OUTCOME: Case dismissed by the prosecutor after completion of PTI.

Client was a Vet School doctor was got into an argument with another doctor in the school over research. Client was angry over his belief his colleague had stolen his research. He threatened his coll ... eague and said he would get a gun and shoot him. The police were called and client admitted this but told the police he hadn't been serious when he uttered the threat. Police arrested him for felony terrorizing and the ADA formally charged him with this crime. We worked with client to complete a serious mitigation package and background dossier which we presented to the ADA and was accepted by her and client was permitted to go into the pretrial program and avoid criminal prosecution. Client completed the pretrial program and case was dismissed.

OUTCOME: Case no billed by the prosecutor.

Client was a 3.1 LSU undergrad who was arrested for burglarizing a fellow dorm student's room and stealing their property. Our client had never been in trouble before, but the evidence in this case wei ... ghed heavily against him. We presented a mitigation package that showed our client's true character and the ADA listened and reviewed the matter fully again. In the end, the ADA agreed not to charge our client with any crimes.

Alligator farm was discharged wastewater from the farm with waste products from alligator processing and highly concentrated saltwater that affected his property. We intervened and helped with the sit ... uation and eventually helped the Krenz family sell their property to the alligator farm business.

Client arrested for carnal knowledge of a juvenile under our State's "Romeo & Juliet" law. I was able to speak to the prosecutor on our client's behalf and with the support of positive background info ... rmation to present, I was able to convince the prosecutor to allow our client to enter the pretrial program and dismiss the formal criminal case.

OUTCOME: Case dismissed by prosecutor.

Client arrested for aggravated rape of a child under 12 due to allegation by child he enticed her to give him oral sex while she was at a child care center. We investigated the case and were able to c ... onvince the prosecutor that the police had ignored contradictory statements from the complainant and other child witnesses. This case work for our client resulted in the prosecutor dismissing the case after motions and prior to trial.

OUTCOME: Case dismissed by the District Attorney's Office

Client arrested and charged with Aggravated Rape of a child under the age of 12. The complainant alleged my client engaged in sexual acts upon her, but my client denied any such involvement. Case wen ... t through the motions stage and we were able show there was a lack of forensic evidence to support the charge through diligent and determined review of the physical evidence and scene. Further, we were able to expose enough factual discrepencies in the witnesses statements that the case was dismissed completely by the District Attorney's Office and my client was allowed to go on with his life freely without this cloud of suspicision on his character.

I was part of an environmental criminal defense "dream team" to respond to a massive EPA-CID criminal investigation in Dallas for potential RCRA and CWA charges. I represented the mid-level managers i ... n the investigation. Other attorneys came from Atlanta, Houston and Dallas to be on this team. Our own investigators came from Arkansas, Mississippi and Colorado to work the case.

Overstreet family versus Jefferson Parish

OUTCOME: Our client was provided with ample settlement for damages and the value of their home by Jefferson Parish.

Our client's home was surrounded and contaminated with raw sewerage which backed up into their yard and home from a lift station that failed when the electricity went down. Jefferson Parish failed to ... have a back up generator to run the lift station and all of the sewerage in the line blew out of the second story lift station and rained down onto my client's property. I worked with local counsel Steve Rando to effectuate a very acceptable and quick settlement for our client.
