Garnishment

Received an email from the payroll department regarding a garnishment out of my check for lemon that was purchased in2008. So I contacted this attorney's office and was told by Abby that a judgement was put in place in 2010 and that I was contacted. Well I wasn't contacted until 2014 then they starte...d garnishing my check. They stop the garnishment a few months later after taking$400.00 a month. When I called this time she said the obligation wasn't complete. How is it fair to take 300.00 out every other week for something that i purchased 16 years ago and not notify me. I will not stay for this. I am contacting an attorney today myself as well as contacting the news channel to shed light on this type of foolery. I am a single mother; my kids depend on me so having $600.00 taking a month from me will screw up my livelihood. How am I suppose to take care of my kid and pay all my bills.

Do not recommend

The company I got the loan from should really reconsider their attorney or debt collector. This man is very rude & I wouldn’t let him represent my dog.

Horrible customer service

My family member owe Baton Rouge Credit. This so call Lawyer answered the phone with a nasty attitude and talked to us like we were the scum of the earth. We were trying to make payment arrangements toward her debt. That unprofessional so called lawyer told me to hang up the phone like I was his chil...d. I don't know what his problem is but he needs anger management and customer service classes. He should never work with the public again until he learn how to talk to people with respect. He needs his license taken away period and maybe find another way to make a living maybe working with animals.

Circumstances

I just felt compelled to call in to find out about my garnishment. Mr Bankston took my call and proceeded to belittle me and maliciously speak to me as if I owed him money. I do owe someone money but not him. The fault also must be put on the creditor for using such a miserable attorney to handle... the folks that fall short on their accounts. No one should be treated as rude and nasty as he talk. His job is to only collect a debt not persecute you while at the same time getting the monies due to his client. I do not appreciate his attitude or his insinuations about me. He does not know what happened in my life to get me in debt. God be with you Richard D Bankston.

Reputable Businesses Be Aware!!

fter Breast Cancer, I found myself in deep financial trouble. I had a loan with Baton Rouge Credit and after 2-3 collection letters, I was issued a summons to court and a received a judgement. When initially talking to this attorney he spoke to me like crap. He is one of the rudest people I have ...ever spoken to. Not only is he rude he is verbally abusive. Granted, I knew I owed the debt so I paid him $600. I didn't make any other payments and a couple months later he started garnishing my check. Sick (surviving, hope pushing hard), I started to work overtime to pay what my job said they received from the court that I owed. Well when I called his office after my job finished garnishing he stated I owed him an additional $3000 and my employer couldn't tell me what I owed him, they don't know crap. I asked him for a break down of charges. He demanded that I come to his office and get the court documents. I already had the documents, and had paid what my job says I owe. I was sincerely confused at this and at a lost on what to do. I couldn't afford to pay another $3000. I knew he was telling a lie. My employer stopped garnishing my wages, so I did nothing. I received nothing from him in writing no debt collection or letter or anything. I receive an offer from Baton Rouge Credit to come get another loan. Almost a year later, I pulled my credit and I found he was submitting that I was $1700 late every 90 days, and my credit score is terrible. So, now instead of $3000 it's $1700. I knew he lied! I still was in disbelief that I owed this! But, $1700 is better than $3000. Then the most recent my employer takes another $250 out of my pay check. I call my employer and they state I owe it to him. But, after that payment that should be all. I call him and he tells me I still owe him $1500. I don't know if that is before or after the payments, I ask him for a break down and he screams numbers at me yelling figures off very fast. I asked him if he could put everything in writing. He states very nastily, "I just told you, why do you need it in writing! Come get it from my office!" He is a bully, He lacks moral and is very unethical. He thrives in not being transparent so that he can make money off of the misfortunes of others. He made no collection attempts to me at all!! Nothing in writing just hitting my credit every month. This man is a true low life.
