Garnishment

Received an email from the payroll department regarding a garnishment out of my check for lemon that was purchased in2008. So I contacted this attorney's office and was told by Abby that a judgement was put in place in 2010 and that I was contacted. Well I wasn't contacted until 2014 then they starte...d garnishing my check. They stop the garnishment a few months later after taking$400.00 a month. When I called this time she said the obligation wasn't complete. How is it fair to take 300.00 out every other week for something that i purchased 16 years ago and not notify me. I will not stay for this. I am contacting an attorney today myself as well as contacting the news channel to shed light on this type of foolery. I am a single mother; my kids depend on me so having $600.00 taking a month from me will screw up my livelihood. How am I suppose to take care of my kid and pay all my bills.

RUDE RUDE RUDE!

I called to get information about my garnishment bc i was told my attorney can give me the most information. Keep in my that this is my first, hopefully last, garnishment so, therefore I had many questions. Into my first two questions I sensed that Abby had an attitude. I brushed it off and continued... my conversation. Abby informed me that it takes time for them to receive the payment bc of the process. I let her know that it’s a rip off bc we can’t control how long it takes for them to receive their money and as long as they have the date that it garnish from our check then that’s the only date that should matter. She told me I wouldn’t be in this situation if I would’ve just paid my debt! In the nastiest way at that! Which was rude! I told her that she didn’t know what type of hardship I had at the time and that she shouldn’t judge people bc we all fall short. In the process of me letting her know how unprofessional she was, she asked me did I have any more questions for her and I told her yes, however she needs to stop being so rude. She then hung up in my face! Abby needs to be fired. But after reading the rest of the comments, I see that this is the way she’s been for some time. Actually the entire firm. They’re rating is a 1 star! And that’s only to comment ! Its very sad and I hope she heals and let whatever hurt go that’s she’s holding on too bc she’s only damaging herself. I wonder if I can change the attorney!

Would Not Recommend

After COVID affected my small business, I entered into a credit recovery program. This attorney was the only creditor who refused to work with me on this debt. His methods were heavy handed and lacked any professionalism or empathy.

Horrible customer service

My family member owe Baton Rouge Credit. This so call Lawyer answered the phone with a nasty attitude and talked to us like we were the scum of the earth. We were trying to make payment arrangements toward her debt. That unprofessional so called lawyer told me to hang up the phone like I was his chil...d. I don't know what his problem is but he needs anger management and customer service classes. He should never work with the public again until he learn how to talk to people with respect. He needs his license taken away period and maybe find another way to make a living maybe working with animals.

Circumstances

I just felt compelled to call in to find out about my garnishment. Mr Bankston took my call and proceeded to belittle me and maliciously speak to me as if I owed him money. I do owe someone money but not him. The fault also must be put on the creditor for using such a miserable attorney to handle... the folks that fall short on their accounts. No one should be treated as rude and nasty as he talk. His job is to only collect a debt not persecute you while at the same time getting the monies due to his client. I do not appreciate his attitude or his insinuations about me. He does not know what happened in my life to get me in debt. God be with you Richard D Bankston.
