Not a typical case \ Not a typical client

I was referred to Mr. Sallinger by my business attorney. This was my first real experience on the "other side" of the law, so the experience was extremely stressful. I wasn't stopped by police, didn't have an accident, none of the typical ways someone gets an OWI. No one saw me driving recklessly..., no one saw me driving intoxicated. So the idea that I was even in this position, surprised and aggravated me. Never the less, I found myself with the charge. I was eager to have my day in court and get the case resolved. I found out things like this have a speed of there own. Which of course, caused me more stress. I know these stresses translated to a strained relationship with Mr. Sallinger. But between him and his staff, they kept things on course. Until after a full year, the court date finally came. Even though I was the one on the hot seat in court, watching and listening to Mr. Sallinger question the police who were involved, was an education. There is no doubt Mr. Sallinger is good at his job. He very meticulously drilled down through the opinions, and illuminated the facts. The result was a Directed Verdict of Acquittal. For those of us for whom this type experience is new and scary, and the slowness of the justice system is in itself, a cause of stress and anxiety. It requires an education of the process. So patience is key. But I think Mr. Sallinger was an excellent representative.
