Gary Brown is the founder of Brown Weimer, LLC. He has been practicing law almost 40 years, assisting clients with a variety of legal matters. He is primarily engaged now in handling legal matters related to elder law, estates, estate planning, mental health law, and Medicaid planning for nursing homes.
In the past, Gary practiced in the large firm and corporate environment where he represented major financial institutions and corporations in commercial litigation matters. But he missed contact with people and solving their real-life problems. He missed the rewards of personally serving and getting to know his clients. So he founded this law firm to represent people, not business.
Gary has been named Super Lawyer for the past 5 years and has received numerous other awards.
He is a Certified Medicaid Planner, which recognizes him as a leader in the nursing home Medicaid planning field, providing the highest level of assistance, guidance, and advocacy for clients and families faced with nursing home financing and residency. He assists his clients in preserving their income and assets while qualifying them for Medicaid long term care benefits.
Gary and the firm are dedicated to solving your legal problems—timely, successfully, and at a reasonable cost.

Blood sucking… Run for the hills. Extremely excessive billing.
Run…. Mr. Brown is the reason folks cannot trust attorneys. He will suck you DRY. Extremely Excessive billing on a small succession case less than 200k. I paid Mr. Gary Brown 3k to work my small succession. All original documents were mailed and detail info given. Mr. Brown charged 6 hours to prepare...
This review is very personally frustrating and disappointing to me. Client and I entered into a contract that the case would be billed hourly, as is customary for succession cases. Client paid a modest deposit, also as is customary. I kept track of my time by contemporaneously timing the legal work I performed. I completed the work, the documents were signed and ready to file. The time I spent on the case exhausted the deposit. I asked the client to replenish the deposit, as is required by the contract, so I would have the funds necessary to pay the court filing fee. She complained vociferously to me about the bill and demanded I reduce it. The bill was reasonable as it accurately reflected the time I spent on the case. I reached out multiple times to the client to try to work out a solution. I offered to allow the bar association to mediate the fee dispute at no charge to the client. I offered to put up the firm’s money to pay the filing costs so the succession could be completed. I offered to go over line by line all the charges in the bill to explain them. The client refused all my suggestions and demanded the fee be reduced. There was no logical or rational basis for her demand. I am sorry this client is unhappy with me. Frankly I do not know what else I could have done to appease the client except to accede to her unreasonable demand. The firm has handled hundreds of cases just like this with hundreds of satisfied clients. I have been a lawyer for 40 years and this is the only review I have received of this type. Interestingly this reviewer has many, many negative reviews she has made against other businesses. Consider the source.
