In the summer of 2017 I was arrested at a protest. Part of my demonstration was burning the American flag in protest of white supremacy in our government. This was an action protected by the first amendment but I was arrested anyway. The police charged me officially with improperly burning garbage, a...nd public intoxication. I was assigned a public defender who was uninterested in the facts of the case. Kara Larson took my case and I am so grateful that she did. She not only filed the motions needed, had the courage to argue the civil rights aspect of the case even though it was a controversial and distasteful demonstration to some, but she also explained my rights to me and her strategy every step of the way. Having never been arrested before I was very intimidated by my situation but Kara Larson put me at ease and ultimately got my case dismissed. Friendly, talented, and passionate about what she is doing. 10/10 would hire again.
