One of the top attorneys in Lincoln

I consulted with Ms Neary on several legal matters. I was impressed with her eclectic knowledge of law. I also appreciated her honestly with me over whether I had a legal leg to stand on in a particular suit. I had so many attorneys trying to sell me a bill of goods just to make a dime. It was... nice to deal with someone so knowledgeable, honest, and caring. I won't think twice about calling upon Ms. Neary when needed.

Professional, Determined Advocate!

Kathleen Neary is highly recommended! She is one of the most professional attorneys I have ever encountered. I consulted Kathleen when my employer was discriminating against me because of my gender/sex. She was so experienced -- she told me immediately what actions were actionable and what actions... were mean-spirited but unlikely to lead to recovery. She gave me excellent advice on what to do at work to survive until I could get the hell out of there. Her reputation in Lincoln and Omaha for both for discrimination claims and personal injury matters is stellar -- all of the defense attorneys know she will be a fierce opponent when fighting for your rights, which helps when she is negotiating for you.

Best call I ever made!

I would highly recommend Kathleen Neary as your lawyer. She represented me in a personal injury case after I was hit by a car. I didn't know what to do after my accident. She immediately took care of every aspect of my case, calling insurance companies & taking care of all the medical issues. She was... very caring and compassionate while I was laid up. Kathleen checked in with me and kept me informed. She is very knowledgeable in her field and will work tirelessly for you. Kathleen told me to be patient while she dealt with the insurance companies. Both companies settled, but she was ready and willing to go to trial and they knew that. If you want a lawyer that's professional, precise and won't back down Kathleen is your woman!

She's "doing you a favor" not working for you - and makes that very clear

I hired Kathleen to sue an insurance co. that refused to pay for my medical care. Kathleen told me to "go home and heal, forget about the accident, just concentrate on getting better". I specifically asked (after scouring the internet for advice) if I should or needed to keep a "journal" along the wa...y (which in the end I think would have been Very Emotionally Healing). Instead I followed her advice which was "no". So I didn't. Two years later, after I had been financially crippled with huge multiple monthly medical payments, she called to say it was time for a disposition. I called that family member (as instructed by Kathleen) and asked if she gave a statement recently, and she had that day. I conveyed everything Kathleen told me (nearly verbatim) and she - at work as well - burst into tears with me on the phone. She was so upset she had to leave work for the rest of the day because of our phone conversation (which Kathleen told me to have with her right before hanging up on me). Yes you read that right - before hanging up on me. To say this woman has zero professionalism is an understatement. When I had collected myself, I called Vince Powers directly. It was a short conversation. I told him who I was, that Kathleen was representing me in my claim and the disgusting verbal abuse I had just endured on the phone from her. He said "well when you hire a lawyer they work for you, not the other way around", "I'll look into this" and hung up. He had not put my mind to rest, so I immediately opened the phone book and called another attorney to find out what it was going to take to fire Kathleen and hire a new lawyer. This is when I found out Kathleen could step down from the case upon my request, but still ask to be paid for "services rendered". Not five minutes after speaking with Mr. Powers, Kathleen called back. (I was on the phone with the other lawyer.) Knowing it was her calling on the other line, prior to picking up the phone, I called two co-workers into my office and answered the call on speakerphone. Unfortunately, after speaking with other lawyers in town, they all warned me about her and advised to just "stick it out", which I did. The day of the deposition she pinched me and kicked me under the table (hard) when I didn't answer a question the way she thought I should. In the end, her law office took 33% of my settlement, and I vowed to never cross her path again. I advise every one to ask other attorneys of their opinion of Kathleen Neary before hiring her. My personal advise is to steer clear.
