ELIZABETH GOVAERTS HELPED ME NAVIGATE THROUGH THE MESS AFTER A HEAD ON ACCIDENT
Ms. Govaerts became my attorney shortly after a driver turned in front of me at 60 miles an hour and a head on crash left me with 4 inches of my right leg crushed. I spent a week in the hospital after the accident, 2 months off of work with an external fixator sticking out of my leg and a long road to recovery. My brother had had a horrific accident several years before that left him with 22 breaks to one side of his rib cage and barely able to pay his bills. He encouraged me to seek legal advice because dealing with insurance companies is overwhelming when you are trying to recover. I spent the next 10 months enduring add'l surgeries, multiple casts, walking boots and extensive therapy to get me walking again. During that time Ms. Govaerts dealt with my health insurance carrier, the insurance carrier of the other driver as well as my auto insurance carrier and coming up with the best game to get my bills paid. Because of my brother's bad luck of being hit by someone under insured, I had increased my own auto coverage and I had more coverage than the person who pulled in front of me therefore Ms. Govaerts ochestrated and mediated a settlement with my own insurance company. I would have never thought of seeking funds from MY insurer. The accident wasn't my fault, but Ms. Govaerts fought to get the benefits I had paid for. Sometimes you just need a professional to give yourself the best chance. Ms. Govaerts took the time to get to know me as a person and because of that knowledge she could best expess how my injuries would change my life. She was right beside me during the mediation with my insurance carrier fighting to get me a fair settlement. Reminding them that my injury looked like a broken leg on paper but my doctor said the injury reduced my level of future health 15%. The extent of my injury would make it difficult to enjoy golfing and biking ever again and a long term limp could create back and hip problems down the line and effect my mobility and greater health for life. Ms. Govaerts is skilled at taking the "numbers" game away from the insurer and showing them how a life has been effected. The insurance company agreed to a settlement. All my bills were covered and I received a very fair settlement from my insurance company for my long term injuries. Ms. Govaerts was paid from a share of my settlement and she earned every dime. I could not have been happier. God forbid I ever need her services again, but if I do, Elizabeth Govaerts will be my first call.

"Attorney Govaerts and I have many clients in common due to the nature of our practice areas. Her clients are always well informed re: their case that she is handling and more important her clients share with me how hard she works on their behalf and how happy they are with her representation. I’ve seen her work and it is top notch! Although a zealous advocate she is personally a real nice person. I am happy to refer cases to her as I know my referrals will be in good hands."
