also known as Kenny Jacobs
I grew up in Northeast Missouri and graduated from Truman State University in 2002. I attended law school in Vermillion, South Dakota. While in law school in interned at the Federal Public Defender in Omaha.
Upon graduation I accepted a position at the Public Defender's Office in Sioux Falls, SD. During my 6 years at that office, I handled thousands of cases ranging from traffic tickets to serious felonies.
I have filed numerous pre-trial motions to keep specific evidence out at trial with the most public one being in 2013 where a successful pre-trial motion kept the prosecutors from using the term "abusive head trauma" on a shaken baby case.
I have also had numerous trials, both jury and bench trials, with great outcomes.
As I handled more and more cases I realized that a "win" was not necessarily a not guilty verdict (although those are fantastic), but helping clients to make major life changes. I have been able to get clients through diversion programs where they are able to move forward to receive degrees or professional certificates, to one client even opening her own business.
Leaving that office was tough because of the relationships I had made, but being able to work for myself and to put more time into every case has been just as rewarding.

I came in from a previous lawyer who had explained nothing to me just sent me emails about my case with word i did not understand. Ive had a couple of attorneys in the past and I can honestly say he's one of the best I've had. Most lawyers I feel generally don't take the time to actually get to know you as a person . They are just there to do their job and get paid. He was there for me with any questions I had and making sure I ...
"Kenny is an outstanding attorney with a wealth of knowledge in criminal defense and family law. Kenny is a committed advocate and a dedicated member of Nebraska's legal community."
"An excellent lawyer who treats clients with patience, care, understanding, and utmost professionalism - an even better person and I wholeheartedly recommend for future services."
"I was a prosecutor in Sioux Falls nearly six years. Kenny and I had dozens, if not hundreds of cases over the years together while he was at the Public Defender’s Office and before he left for private practice. He knows how to be a strong and firm advocate for his clients. He also knows how to reason with the other side, which is a crucial skill when the evidence isn’t in your favor and you still want to bargain for a better offer than the prosecution has made. In seventeen jury trials I had, only one person convinced a jury to come back not guilty on all charges. That was Kenny Jacobs. Sometimes as a prosecutor, you’d mutter about the slimy, sneaky, or underhanded things some defense attorneys surprise you with in the middle of trial. With Kenny, I just tipped my hat. Then I used it as a learning experience to improve my own trial ability. Anyone looking for a criminal defense attorney would be well-served with Kenny Jacobs at your side. I endorse this attorney."
"I endorse Kenny due his extensive experience as a public defender, extensive knowledge of complex criminal issues and track record of success defending his clients. He is also a well-respected member in the legal industry."
