Go with your gut.

Unprofessional. Referred to me as "dear". What professional refers to their clients as dear? Hard to get ahold of either by phone or email. Didn't ever feel comfortable in THAT office either w/ him or January. At the time I figured it was just because I was in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, which ma...de me uncomfortable to start with. But, no, always go with your gut. I got a letter from January inviting me to go with her in a different firm. I got a letter from Rickey denying that anything was wrong and stating that January was circulating false information. Rickey was eventually disbarred. He advertised as being a Christian firm. Ha!

Sad I made this choice

I have been given incorrect information twice that I know of so far! In our initial interview I was told I would be allowed to keep my tax refund if I filed chapter 13 instead of chapter 7. Because I adopted a special needs child and have an adoption credit this is a big deal. With no credit it ...will allow me to put the money in savings so it is there should something happen. When I get the papers I find out I have to submit a copy of my tax return. When I has the lawyers assistant, you never get to speak with the lawyer, she says MOST of the time you get to keep it but the trustee my make you give it up. Why on earth did the lawyer tell me differently???? That is a large portion of the reason I chose to go with a chapter 13 because I qualified to go either way. When I very first filed I was told not to worry about the money in my checking account. I told him my car loan was through were I got my car. He said since I decided on a chapter 13 I didn't need to worry about it. Wrong....my account was frozen with my rent money in it. They did not unfreeze it until the case went for confirmation so I had to figure out how to come up with rent twice in one month. As many bankruptcy's as he does he should know the law. In the interview I really felt comfortable with him. I thought he cared about his clients. I just don't understand why I was given incorrect information.

Divorced and in debt, but Rick helped me out

My dad and mom posted about their experience with Rick and I also wanted to share my thoughts. Actually, my parents recommended I see him when my ex filed for divorce and left me with a ton of debt. 26 with 2 kids and a mess of bills was kind of my low point. Rick and Randi were very kind and they di...dn't judge me. They just helped me get through a chapter 7 bankruptcy. Don't get me wrong, I would have rather not had to file....but my experience with Rick and his staff was definitely positive. I do agree that Rick is hard to get on the telephone. But he told me that when we first met. What that person didn't say is that if clients need to have an issue addressed all they have to do is schedule an office appointment with Rick. He told me he likes to talk in person to make sure the issues get fully resolved, and he didn't charge me for the visits. Maybe that other person needed other legal work done and didn't want to pay? I don't know....but I do know that all I had to do was schedule an appointment with him at no cost to me. Personally, I liked coming in to see him rather than talking on the phone anyway. Just my 2 cents.

Would not recommend to my most hated

Claims to be family orientated, lie. Paralegal is slow and cost me ch 7-but made sure her sister was able to send me a letter about buying a car from a dealership. Rick said our ch 13 had a 90% chance of being reasonable! it wasn't. Our settlement cost me my marriage and was so intrusive that we c...ould barely survive-I had lost over 3/4 of my income. Rick is almost impossible to get ahold of after your case, email- which I was told was the best way is a joke as is phone. Money though get attention. I read a great review for January, a colleague of his, must have been a put up job, cuz choosing this attorney was the worst decision of my life.

Not impressed

Filed a Chapter 13 three years ago-Rick was very helpful and informative until it was filed and then he was impossible to get in touch with (actually told us it would cost us $125 to talk to him after we filed, even though the questions we had were about the bankruptcy we had already paid him for). W...ould not recommend to my worst enemy.
