Mark Neis is board certified in consumer bankruptcy law by American Board of Certification, one of ten in Kansas. He and his partner, Jill Michaux, are Topeka's only bankruptcy specialists.
He represents debtors and small business proprietors in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. He generally does not represent creditors.
Mark is a partner in the Topeka law firm, Neis & Michaux, P.A. He and his wife, Jill Michaux, formed the firm in 1984 when they married and merged their individual law practices.
He was graduated from Washburn University with a bachelor of business administration degree in 1973 and with a juris doctor from the Washburn University School of Law in 1977.
He is a founding member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He was a founder and past president of the Topeka Area Bankruptcy Council. He was a founding member of the Kansas Bar Association Bankruptcy and Insolvency Section. He is a member of the local Jayhawker men’s club.
Mark's avocations include golf, ballroom dancing, gourmet cooking, travel, movies and music.
