I hired her last year. Once I started the process, it took weeks to get my husband served papers. My husband was expecting them and had even told me that I should go ahead with someone else if it took his attorney in contacting her to get the papers and the process started. Basically after lots of ma...ils and calls that just seemed to repeat themselves (lots of billed hours), and a court hearing where I agreed to terms (ie alimony) that I later found out from another attorney, that I should have fought, I switched. Her retainer of almost $3500 was spent in 4 months. I switched to another attorney and had it done under $2500 and in 4 months since switching.

Barbara wrote up our will and estate and handed it to us to take home and read. I called about some questions, that to me, was so much legal mumble jumble and she said, "Can't you read? Then told me, "to sit down and and quit being so emotional and re-read it." Actually, Scott, her husband answered ...questions a lot better than her.) When we went to the signing of our papers...still so many questions, for us, unanswered...and I have to say, it was our fault for probably signing the papers without demanding answers that we understood. She seemed confident, so we just thought it was okay and went through with it. My gut kept saying something was wrong...took all papers to another attorney. He saw different issues wrong and said he would tell us what to correct and then we could go back to her to change. We decided we didn't want to deal with her at all... All in all, maybe she is a good divorce lawyer or in other areas....but to us...poor communication to us and sarcastic...unless she thought she was being funny?!!?
