Biography
As a criminal defense lawyer, I am committed to listening to my clients to learn who they are and what their story is all about. Learning my client's story is how I can best educate judges, prosecutors, juries, and the media.
There are many criminal defense lawyers, but far fewer lawyers who routinely put cases before a jury. From July of 2021 to June of 2024, I was lead counsel on eight jury trials, including three homicide cases and three sexual assault cases. In seven of these eight trials, my clients were found not guilty of every single charge put before their jury. In the eighth case, my client was found not guilty of homicide, but guilty of drug distribution.
I have worked hard to develop a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to my work, taking into account the many factors that contribute to a situation where someone finds themselves accused of a crime. A client's future is critically important to me and I will go to extreme lengths within the confines of the law and my ethical duties to assist each client.
I am licensed to practice law in both Kansas and in Missouri.
