My husband and I were planning a long road trip in 2013. and knew we wanted to get our affairs in order before we left in case something unforeseen might happen. We attended an informational meeting that Chris was presenting in our hometown. We were very impressed with Chris's knowledge and ability t...o make a complicated and serious matter easy and pleasurable to understand. We decided to hire Gaughan and Connealy to do our estate planning. My husband died in April of this year. I discovered that being consumed with grief doesn't leave much energy to deal with anything else. I met with Chris just a few weeks later. He assured me that everything was taken care of in the trust and he would be there for me to answer questions and take care of any other matters concerning the trust. For about 10 years my husband and I kept saying, "we need to prepare a trust or a will". We had already planned and paid for our funerals but trying to figure out the will or trust was overwhelming to us. We received an invitation in the mail to attend a seminar. We had received many of these in th...e past and never had any interest in attending but the questions on the flyer were almost word for word the questions we had. A slide presentation, which was quite interesting, was going while we waited for the seiminar to begin. As Chris discussed the the different reasons and explained the many different family demographics that will change the items that need to be addressed in a trust or will, we were comfortable that Chris was a very knowledgeable attorney and we needed to at least attend an initial discussion with him one on one. After meeting with Chris we both agreed that Chris and his firm were whom we wanted to execute our Trust documents. We have combined two families and had no idea how this would work. We wanted to make sure what we had worked for would go to our children and grandchildren - not that we don't love our "in-laws". He answered every question we had telling us different options we had. He explained how he would take care of the any documents that needed to be changed to fund the trust. Chris is laid back which made us comfortable. But even more the knowledge that Chris has and the documentation we now have received from Gaughan & Connealy has given us a peace of mind. We know are wishes are organized and in a legal format that our children and grandchildren will be thankful for down the road.
