Mike was by far one of the best attorneys that we've ever worked with. He listened to the issue, gave us his recommendations, followed up with the plan of action and we came out on the winning side. He was prompt to answer all emails and phone calls. We would highly recommend him to anyone.
I first contacted Mike last year shortly after my husband died, when I had a lot of questions about how to handle various aspects of a trust, finances and family disputes. We met or spoke by phone several times, and he immediately made me feel comfortable enough to freely voice my concerns and confusion. It turned out I did not need to hire an attorney, simply someone to point me in the right direction, but I received answers and valuable advice which helped me get through that difficult period of my life. Mr. Whitsitt is caring, astute, direct and honest. When he did not know the answer to one of my questions, he said so, and offered a referral in that field, that being about Social Security and Medicaid particular to my situation. All this consulting was gratis. I would trust him with any aspect of my legal needs.
We emphasize a collaborative approach, but, when necessary, we are prepared to litigate/try the case; up to 75% of our practice is domestic/family law.
We provide our small business clients with an evaluation of what type of business entity is best suited for them, including partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, or limited partnerships. Once the choice of entity has been made, we draft the necessary business formation and operating documents appropriate to the choice of entity, file those documents with the Secretary of State, and assist the client in keeping that organization active.
As a practicing attorney since 1972, Michael E. Whitsitt has always served his clients professionally, with the highest degree of ethics and according to the best standards of legal practice. For more than 43 years, he has been helping clients settle their legal problems, both in and out of court.

Great Lawyer
Mr. Whitsitt is very client centered, patient, knowledgeable, and effective. Having a lawyer with 40+ years of legal experience is invaluable, especially with handling a interstate family law case.

The Best Around
I am an attorney myself. So, when I went looking for a divorce attorney I pretty well knew how to go about choosing one, I interviewed several attorneys and found that Mike was the one for me.
He listened carefully to my concerns and always had those at the top of his list when dealing with opposing counse, me and the Court. He also gave me his advice about reaching certain goals which helped me make correct decisions when I had to make one. He was also very frank and thoughtful when he counseled me on these decisions.
My divorce played havoc with my emotions and my thought processes but Mike was always there as a calming influence. And he was always there to take my calls or return them promptly when I needed him the most.
Sometimes I would call very angry at what the other lawyer had done and wanted to "Go to war". Mike listened carefully and never dismissed my ideas. Then he would calmly give me his advice on my suggested course of action and remind me of the concerns and goals that I had told him when we first met. His advice was always spot on and he saved me from myself on may occasions when any other lawyer would have been happy to take my money and led the useless "charge"
In the end Mike achieved all there was to achieve in my particular situation. And while nobody is "Happy" with the results of a divorce I was very satisfied that Mike had done an excellent job in achieving the goals that I had explained to him when we first met.
Mike is a gentleman and through my expeerience with him I learned that he had the respect of both opposing counsel and the court.
My divorce was not cheap because of all the issues involved but Mike's billing was very fair and I certainly feel as though I got more than I paid for,
