My name is Charles and had not been able to see my kids for 2 in a half months bc my x told a lot of lies on me and I went in talk to to Shelly and she was on it the minute i paid their fees she had me seeing my kids by Thanksgiving and now I get them she's a good lawyer she knows what she's doing she's very nice and understanding my situation . I'm am very thankful to have her on my side

Amazing! Professional!
I am so grateful for Shelly and her staff! They have showed me nothing but love and kindness over the past few days and Loni coming the hospital today was above and beyond! She took the time at the office to read me the POA because I was so overwhelmed. She offered me water soda chocolate and most importantly a hug. Michelle‘s help was just above and beyond what I could’ve ever imagined, too! I am very blessed. You guys have been a blessing to me today. Thank you for to you for drawing up that POA on such short notice. Today are you and your staff reminded me that there still is kindness in this evil world. Best Attorney
I have no idea who the poor review was talking about, but it was not Shelly. I have used her and referred to friends. She pays attention to the details and really cares about her clients and welfare of the children involved in ugly custody battles. Plus, it was nice talking to a well educated attorney who could help with the financial side of a divorce. She has her MBA and was able to poke holes in my husband's attorneys flawed calculating. I would also feel comfortable hiring any one of the other attorneys in her office if the need arises, i.e. traffic tickets, etc. Thanks for all your hard work Shelly!

Excellent lawyer for custody battle
We recently used Shelly for our custody case. I was very pleased with how she handled our case! She wasn't always quick to respond to emails, but when it came time to take care of business and do the trial/settlment work, she was extremely honest, knowledgeable, and we were 100% satisfied that Shelly had my best interest in mind and was definitely working for me. It was a nice breath of fresh air to have a lawyer who was more concerned with my needs than with making a paycheck. She offered a payment plan, which was exceptionally nice (considering how expensive custody stuff gets). If we ever have to go back to court, I will definitely be using her again. Thank you Shelly!

Awful business. Took my money and after over a year and being moved attorneys in the firm due to him having too high of case load. I finally got a court date only for them to drop me a month prior to my court date without notice, due to not being available, but they are still able to take other clients.

Thank you. 8-17-21 Nicole Reynolds, we understand you were upset about losing a great attorney like Ms. Reece by all your continued posts on social media rating sites. We just hope if your family ever has an emergency that others will have the understanding and forgiveness to help you. Thank you. 5-6-21 Nicole Reynolds, one of our attorneys had a death of an immediate family member, and another being put into a nursing home this year that was communicated to you personally by the attorney in a phone call. Our goal is to finish each case, but sometimes the attorney has the ethical duty per the Missouri Bar to withdraw from a case to allow a client to find other counsel. All withdraws and reasons for it are mailed to the court and client with proper notice per the court rules, and the judge approves all withdraws. We mail all clients their bills each month, with all work performed, all payments posted, and whom to contact if there are questions about the bill. We do have attorneys still able to help clients with their cases, but sometimes we cannot transfer a case to them due to scheduling conflicts. We hope you can understand this situation and the unforeseen heartbreak this attorney has had this year.

Poor attention to client
Never knew who I was, my case details etc. when I met with her or talked to her on phone. (Just open my file and do a quick glance before meeting me would have sufficed) I never felt confident I had a chance in my case. I had to call and ask for updates, she was never clear on things I would ask and finally got a hold of her. Was not supportive in my worries about pursuing the case. Maybe getting too busy to handle all her clients by herself in the last few years. I paid her consistently with her retaining fee and her payment plan, but never felt I got the thousands of dollars worth she charged me. The payment plan was very nice I will admit that. Got charged for her aides to fix the simple mistakes they made and I caught on the paperwork; which may be standard practice, but I do not feel that is fair either. Others who have her also had similar complaints; through mutual friends we found that out. Sad thing is she probably knows her stuff and could be good in court, but after 6 months of retaining her I did not want to find out. I eventually dropped case, because I felt hopeless.

We have every client review their paperwork prior to submitting anything to the court in order to make sure it is correct and to the client’s standards. Our office manager or Ms. Reece are available to discuss the billing free of charge to make sure clients understand the fees or to make adjustments. I wish you had contacted us directly about your concerns so we could have addressed them right away before you dropped your case. We are always striving to improve and we will use your comments to help make Reece Family Law better. In fact, we had 3 other attorneys in our office handling family law matters at the time of your rating.
