Unprofessional and Upsetting

I was involved in a case that was assigned to Mr. Adair in 2010. I was shocked at the disorganization, lack of general knowledge of common business etiquette, and the level of unprofessional practices that his office employs. Thankfully, I was not a defendant or plaintiff in this matter. But, I w...as disgusted at his behavior and that of his employees. I feel it my duty to give examples and caution others about Mr. Adair's actions: First- on several occasions his office was late or failed completely to notify me about important scheduled appointments and court appearances. I was e-mailed the night before an apparently long-time scheduled deposition and was not notified at all about more than two court appointments requiring my attendance. Secondly- after my absence at one of the hearings I was not notified about, Mr. Adair called and threatened me with the statement that the next time I was not at an appointment, "How does jail time sound to you?". When I was not even a plaintiff OR a defendant in this case and therefore was not at all required to cooperate with Mr. Adair in any way. I was involved in this case purely by my own choosing to help HIM with a case HE was assigned to. His threats were unnecessary, un-called for, and had no basis in reality as my willingness to cooperate was always 100%. Finally- it seems Mr. Adair is rarely in his office. Which is completely his right. BUT his casework and practice maintenance is then left to his office staff. Specifically to his assistant Jane. Jane has difficulty taking phone messages, fails to mail important time-sensitive court documents on schedule, and anytime I had to stop by the office Jane was either "out" or had left for the day. Therefore, anytime I was there in person I had to be helped by a colleague's assistant who had no knowledge of that case. My entire experience with Mr. Adair and his staff was unpleasant, disappointing, and made me very uncomfortable.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
