I was raised in small town in the Kansas City area. In high school I played tennis (poorly) and debated. I worked my way through college with a variety of odd jobs: waiter, janitor, and forklift driver. I became an attorney because I felt my employer was mistreating the employees; I wanted to help others like me. I dedicated my time in law school to public service and that is where I focus my career.
In my spare time I enjoy martial arts, shooting sports, hiking, hunting, and reading. I used to be an avid jogger, but a hip injury put an end to that.
