I had been charged with possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, failure to registry, and failure to equip vehicle with 2 working headlights. David got the marijuana reduced to littering, and had both the failure to register and the paraphernalia dropped completely. In total the court had charged me officially with littering and a broken headlight fine coming out to less than $700 in court fees. He defended me well, and if anyone were to need a lawyer I'd highly suggest Mr. Wells to anyone.
When my late husband passed away in a car accident I needed to obtain legal guardianship of my stepchild. The child's natural mother had been absent since the birth and I had raised the child since age 2. My late husband used Mr. Wells as his lawyer for the original custody case against the biological mother so I knew Mr. Wells would do another fantastic job for my family. Mr. Wells handled my very unique case with expertise and was highly knowledgeable in the area of guardianship and family law. I am so thankful and appreciative for Mr. Wells and his office associates for their kind help during a difficult time for my family. The case and outcome was successful and I highly recommend him for any area of law!

Highly Recommended
Mr. Wells created a plan to handle my difficult case, provided excellent advice, guided me through each step, and it worked. Before my hearing, he got up at 4 a.m., analyzed the latest updates to my case, read several pages of my last-minute notes, and memorized them all. Skillful, savvy, ethical, thoroughly prepared, committed to his clients, and gets favorable results. Friendly and well-liked by his peers and persons within the legal system, and enjoys his job. This is the guy I want on my side anytime I step into a courthouse. Huge asset. Very highly recommended.

Honest Outlook
I went to see Mr. Wells about a divorce petition my husband filed against me. What I liked about this attorney was that he was patient, kind, and gave a very honest opinion regarding the possible outcome and what I could expect for the future. I really liked that he did not try to sugar-coat the situation to tell me what I wanted to hear just to get the job. This is the kind of attorney you would definitely want in your corner.

Rude!!!!!
I called this law firm today to inquire about grandparent rights in the state of Missouri. Mr. Wells happened to answer the call himself. I explained my situation, being well versed on the MO revised statute 452.402 and he told me that grandparents don't have rights to their grandchild unless the parents are divorced. Yet it states in the statute that if the parents are not married and the child resides with them, and it's been more than 90 days (9 mos. for me) that I was not allowed to see my granddaughter, *only because my daughter got mad at me for something I said during an intense argument* gives her no right to cut me off after spending every Sunday without fail since she was born 5 years ago. I barely got that out before Mr. Wells stopped me and proceeded to tell me that I had no case and to look for another attorney! Yet, his website, clearly shows that Grandparent rights are part of his practice. I've never been treated so rudely! I called another attorney, and they were happy to take my case!

POOR example of an attorney with his background!
After reading all the great 5 Star reviews and about David's background, I was very interested in meeting with David Lee Wells regarding my case for a second opinion.
Me being a business owner by trade my whole life. I know first hand about being professional and offering great customer service to people.
NONE of these reviews depicted the true person and character of David Lee Wells.
I've never encountered an attorney so incompetent of communicating with the general public. He was very unprofessional, condescending, argumentative raising his voice and couldn't answer a single question during our visit.
It was like he was trying to cross exam me instead of discussing issues regarding my potential case.
I only rated David Lee Wells 1 Star because I didn't have the option of NO stars.
