Heather is a founding shareholder at Brown & Ruprecht, PC. Her practice specializes in the areas of construction and surety law and commercial/business litigation. She represents business owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties and start-ups on a wide-variety of construction and business litigation matters in state and federal courts, and in arbitrations. Her verdicts include a multi-million arbitration award representing a specialty contractor against a general contractor in connection with the construction of the KCI Airport. Additionally, representing a surety company against a general contractor, Heather successfully obtained a multi-million dollar judgement, and completed the most comprehensive collection proceedings in Johnson County history. She is a frequent speaker for numerous associations, including The Builder’s Association, where she has provided presentations on a variety of topics from mechanic’s liens, building LEED-certified projects and also on suretyship.
