Always grateful for Kelli

Kelli and Rhonda were deeply invested in my numerous trips back to court with my ex. They stood beside me, never made promises that were unrealistic and never gave up fighting. The paperwork Rhonda sifted through during my last court battle was heroic! I will always be grateful to them.

Best Decision Ever!

Kelli is an excellent, no BS lawyer. She is extremely realistic and doesn't mix words. I appreciated her straight forward approach. If she felt there was a strategy that wouldn't work she didn't make empty promises. She knows what she is doing and always got me what was fair. She isn't afraid to ...go to trial like most divorce attorneys and represents men very well in a divorce. She was able to get my children back in my life in a very ugly divorce, after my wife had taken them from me for 7 months. She has the relationships and the reputation to get it done. She does exactly what needs to be done when it needs to be. She is extremely efficient which means what normally takes most lawyers 10 phone calls and 10 emails, she can do in 1 call and 1 email. She is very reasonable in price and is good enough to bill more but she doesn't. You also get her staff which is just as precise and efficient as her. This team fights for what they believe is right. BEST DECISION EVER!

She nearly ruined my divorce case before I fired her

If it had been the simple uncontested case that my friends who recommended her had experienced (that I hoped I might have), maybe she would have been okay. It quickly became obvious that was not the case. I paid her a $2500 retainer that she claimed would take care of everything. She filed my case, e...mailed back and forth with the snake that my wealthy soon-to-ex hired and had me come down four times on my maintenance offer while opposing counsel stonewalled. She told me not to try very hard to get a job until the divorce was final. She recommended I not even ask for child support in lieu of college expenses (which, I later learned from more qualified attorneys, is ridiculously poor advice given the income disparity that would ensure he paid for college anyway, and she severely low-balled the child support I would have given up under her counsel too!) She had me betting against myself the entire time, conceding left and right, while his counter offers never rose to reasonable given our situation. And no wonder! I would quickly learn once I had adequate counsel, they probably knew that if Kelli was my counsel, they may well get away with it. Thankfully, an old paralegal friend suddenly resurfaced in my life and we discussed my situation. She was appalled. I just assumed it was normal to wait a week or two to hear back from a lawyer, to constantly be stressed and wondering what was going on, to be treated like you are a problem simply because you want answers to questions about your case, to talk to your lawyer only four times over the course of two months. My friend assured me it was far from normal and far from okay, and that I had every right to fire her and get the remainder of my retainer back. She gave me some names of attorneys better equipped to handle my high-conflict case and I ran. I got such awesome advice and found a new lawyer who is getting stuff done from day one! I was incensed though not at all surprised to receive Kelli's itemized bill full of bogus trumped-up charges for every little way I tried to reach her and couldn't for two months. I may or may not refute these ridiculous charges for work she never did, for such an inefficient job on a case that would've left me in dire straits if I had not gotten the great advice to seek new counsel to really fight for me. But I definitely will be thankful, even if it cost me $2500, that she is no longer my lawyer. Be sure your lawyers will explain things. Not ignore emails for days on end, not sit on the phone in silence as you express concern and uncertainty about next steps and just wait for you to tell her what to do, even though you obviously have no idea. Long story short: unless you just need to file simple paperwork for an uncontested divorce, RUN far and fast in another direction because this lawyer and her office staff don’t seem to have a clue how to conduct a strong contested case. Worse yet, if they do, they were so poor at conducting it that you wouldn’t know it, and they certainly didn't seem to care about the person, about making the time to be sure the client understands the case and how to make assertive sound choices. That is what you hire an attorney for, after all.

Sometimes clients have unrealistic expectations, and it is the attorney's job to attempt to manage those expectations. I pride myself in giving client the information they "need" to hear not just the information they "want" to hear. Some client's prefer a softer approach which generally results in several thousand dollars more in attorney's fees. If preparing documents for the court, having over 6 in person meetings, and over 80+ communications in less than 3 months is regarded as limited communications, then I was unsuccessful in managing this client's expectations.

I'd give her 6 stars if they let me.

She and her staff were professional, friendly and efficient. I have already recommended her to 3 of my friends. She exceeded my expectations and had to deal with a very hateful ex wife. I hope I never need her services again, but I would not hesitate hire her a in the future.
