I have represented many families both in the capacity as attorney for a husband or wife in divorce cases, but also have represented abused and neglected children in the capacity as court-appointed attorney for children, otherwise known as a guardian ad litem (g.a.l.) in both domestic relations cases and juvenile cases and sometimes in probate cases such as guardianships and adoptions. I have been a g.a.l. for 23 years and it is very rewarding work.

This is also family law. I have represented as many husbands as I have wives always attempting to advocate strongly for my client while reminding them that if they have a child involved in their divorce, they need to remember how each of their decisions will affect their child and that if it were up to the child, the child would probably not want their parents to live in separate households and to be sensitive to that fact as they make decisions throughout the divorce.

Throughout my practice I have met with many clients and helped them prepare for the future in terms of their real and personal property, whether that be in the form of a wil, trust, power of attorney, beneficiary deed etc. and I have helped loved ones deal with the death of a loved one as they attempt to navigate their way through the probate court when dealing with a person's estate when they have created a will and sometimes when they have not.

This area is also part of my probate practice. I have done extensive estate planning which usually involves creations of a Will, Living Will, Durable Power of Attorney, General Power of Attorney, Beneficiary Deed or a Trust. After creating a will for a client, I generally encourage them to advise the personal representative of their estate to contact me at the time of their death to open a probate estate or file other necessary documents to effectuate their estate planning wishes.

I have handled contested adoptions, including termination of the natural parent's parental rights and I have handled uncontested adoptions, such as step-parent adoptions where the natural parents have consented to the adoption.I have represented adopting parents. I have represented children to be adopted as guardian ad litem to ensure that their rights were protected. I have also represented natural parents that did not want their rights terminated and taken several cases up on appeal.

Long difficult road but ............

My experience with Lisa in a long, complicated and needlessly ugly Divorce was extraordinary. Her knowledge and professionalism guided me through some very difficult times. She was always available, knowledgeable and organized keeping me focused and informed on realistic expectations while my case se...emed to meander through a Legal System where the Law, Justice and Common Sense don’t ever seem to intersect. Lisa provides a cool logic, steady and professional representation. She is prepared, organized and always available to both listen to my concerns and provides realistic guidance an expectations. I must admit in the end I still felt screwed over by the “Family Court” System, however, Lisa guided me through this ordeal with skill and knowledge. As I now read through some other reviews of Lisa’s work it is noteworthy that all her reviews are Five Stars and I concur. Fact is for me, it was the worst most expensive three years of my life but Lisa was more than my Lawyer she was a friend in my corner that I felt I could trust always.

Highly Reccommend

Throughout the entire divorce process, Lisa was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, accessible, and helpful. She has always been very on top of things, clearly communicates every step of the way, and always follows through (and up!). She is thorough, organized, straight forward, and compassiona...te. She responds to every email very quickly, and clearly answers all questions (and I had a lot!). I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a divorce attorney.
