Eric Francis Kayira

Eric Kayira is experienced in representing businesses in a wide variety of corporate and intellectual property transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, business formation and structuring, and other general corporate matters. He has considerable expertise in negotiating various licensing arrangements in the entertainment, communications, e-commerce, software, and retail industries. Additionally, Kayira frequently advises clients on their rights to license, own, use and protect proprietary technology and intellectual property, including celebrity rights of publicity, as well as individual rights of privacy.  Kayira over the years has negotiated licenses of inventions, trademarks, patents, copyrights, computer software and a host of proprietary technologies, as well as the works and services of celebrities and media personalities.

Kayira has handled a variety of commercial and other civil cases including, business and contractual disputes, copyright infringement, copyright-joint authorship, trademark, unfair competition, promissory notes and guarantees, defects in workmanship and property damage resulting from negligence, bankruptcy-related litigation matters, collection matters, and real estate related litigation inclusive of both commercial and residential mortgage foreclosures. Kayira has experience handling cases from inception to trial in both state and federal courts.

More recently, Kayira has applied his experience and knowledge in counseling advertisers and other media clients on a variety of issues and transactions ranging from sponsorships and branded content agreements, to music licensing arrangements and celebrity placement agreements.

Well regarded in the entertainment industry, Kayira has experience representing multi-platinum recording artists, record producers, personal managers, publishing companies, songwriters and independent record companies regarding transactions and various legal and business issues within the entertainment industries. Additionally, Kayira handles broad transactions in film and television, including film financing as well as all forms of above and below the line agreements.
