John Meehan Jr.

John Meehan is a third generation lawyer behind his father Justin and grandfather Jack Meehan. After playing football at Drake University and majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in History, John earned a full scholarship to Drake University’s Law School.

At Drake’s Law School John earned certificates in Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Constitutional and Civil Rights Law, and in Public Service. During his final year in school John did two semesters of the Criminal Defense Clinic where he represented individuals charged with crimes in Polk County Iowa handling Assault, Possession, OWI, Stealing, and other criminal cases.

During law school John also worked within sports management for mixed martial arts, working with professional and amateur fighters, and their sponsorships, fight companies, contracts, and community relations.

Upon graduation John moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and worked in the legal department of Zuffa, LLC, also known as the Ultimate Fighting Championship. At the UFC he worked with contracts, legislation of mixed martial arts nationally, mixed martial arts regulation, copyrights, sponsorships, fighter contracts, combating illegal pirating, compliance, and fighter relations.

After passing the bar in February of 2014, John established Meehan Law, LLC.

As of 2015 John has been licensed as an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor working with prospective professional football players in the NFL and CFL.
