Rob Schmittgens joined the Brown and Brown team in April of 2019, devoting his practice to personal injury, focusing litigation cases, including auto collision and premises liability. Since joining the firm, Rob has made successful recoveries for hundreds of clients and handled hundreds of claims, from minor rear-end collisions, to complex, contested liability matters.
Rob is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Illinois, having passed the Missouri Bar Exam in 2016 and the Illinois Bar Exam in 2017. He is an active member of the Missouri Bar, the Illinois Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and the St. Louis Metropolitan Bar Association.
Rob was born and raised in the greater St. Louis area. He attended Chaminade College Preparatory School for high school, studied political science and philosophy at Quincy University, and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law. At UMKC, Rob was an active member of the school’s nationally ranked mock trial team. For his success as a student advocate, Rob was inducted into the prestigious “Order of the Barristers” and awarded the Judge Leon S. Powell Award.
Rob’s mission is to zealously advocate for his clients. Personal injury cases are often confusing for many clients, and Rob is passionate about explaining the process to his clients while ensuring they receive the compensation they deserve.
Rob lives in St. Louis with his wife Teresa and their dogs, Dexter and Barry. In his free time, Rob enjoys playing golf, concert going, or rooting for the Blues, Cardinals, and Tottenham Hotspur.
