Outstanding lawyer
Attorney Sherer has provided outstanding representation to our county. I have been a lawyer for over 37 years, taught, and worked with other lawyers. Our State's Attorney's Office sought and continues to use Attorney Sherer on matters outside our areas of legal expertise. His is an outstanding lawyer, who is ethical and thorough. We consulted and hired Attorney Sherer; his assistance with very helpful.

Highly recommend
Chris made my custody hearings more bearable. I'm very thankful I had a knowledgable professional guiding me through a stressful time. His representation and advice lead to a good outcome for me and my son. I appreciated his assistant Leigh's work on my case, too. They both respond quickly and answered all of my questions.

Amazing Experience
If i could give him 10 stars i would. I have never had an experience with a lawyer before so this whole process i was going through was a bit stressful. However, after my initial meeting with Chris i felt much better about everything. Chris does a fantastic job at walking through the process as a whole and breaking down pieces that might be confusing to help better understand what's going on. I obviously had a lot of questions about the divorce process and Chris did a great job at suggesting but not pushing ideas, he would say "this is what i have seen work in the past but at the end of the day you need to do what you feel comfortable with". I really appreciated that as i have heard some horror stories from friends about their experiences with lawyers. Another nice thing about Chris was that it wasn't always work talk with him, he took a genuine interest in my life outside of the case which again I'm not sure a lot of other lawyers would do. From start to finish, not once did I have a negative experience both Chris and his assistant Leigh were both always available for questions and if they weren't sure they would always get back to me in a timely manner. If you are looking for a lawyer would highly recommend Chris Sherer

Best around!
I've had the pleasure of having Chris on my side a couple of times. First, Chris helped to make sure I was fairly compensated after an accident. Second, Chris helped to get my name cleared in a lawsuit. Not only did he fight to get the case dismissed, he made sure it ended quickly and with prejudice. One thing is very clear after working with Chris - he knows the law and he knows it very well. Not only that, he makes sure your're very informed throughout the whole process. He's there to answer any questions and to explain everything in a way that you clearly understand. He is also very personable and having a good personality helps take some of the stress away from the world of legalities. You can tell that he enjoys what he does and that he truly cares. All of these traits make for one heck of a great attorney and I would recommend him to anyone!

He's bringing bowties back
I hired Chris to handle my divorce. After meeting with him only a few times, he was able to handle my divorce very quickly and as painless as possible. He gave me various options and suggestions on how to go about handling certain things and was VERY helpful. In the end, I got all I was asking for and was able to walk away with my pride intact. I would certainly recommend Chris to anyone going through a divorce, or even other problems you may be facing. Plus, he also wears the coolest bowties!

An Excellent Attorney
I hired Mr Sherer in 2014 to assist me with completing a very messy divorce. Long story short, I started this divorce in 2009, after a 28 year marriage and several houses and numerous other assets, and a very vindictive spouse, with an attorney who got the divorce its self done in late 2011, but didn't complete any of the division of property or other matters. And then, for reasons unrelated to my case, had his law license suspended. So I hired a new attorney, who was able to get a court ruling on the remaining issues, but then moved out of state for personal reasons before getting any of it completed. By this point, I am extremely frustrated and about to just give up. But, luckily I didn't, and hired Mr Sherer. He took on this seemingly insurmountable task, and not only cleaned up the mess the other 2 attorneys had left me in, but did it with poise, grace and sheer determination. He carefully listened to all of my concerns, gave impeccable advice, and got the job done to my satisfaction and more. I would advise anyone seeking counsel or legal representation to use Mr Sherer's law firm. He addressed each and every one of my concerns in a very timely manner with a very professional manner. He is absolutely the best, in both his calming demeanor and his legal expertise. Again, I would recommend him to everyone for all legal matters.

Hire Chris Sherer for your legal needs!
Chris was on my team from the first moment I met him. He tried calming me down when I was ready to make rash decisions because he clearly knew they were rash decisions. I am presently done with his services but would hire him today if needed. I have and will continue to recommend him as an attorney.

The "BEST"
Chris handled a custody issue for us. Our family and friends recommended him. This was the best choice we ever made, hiring Chris. He was honest from start to finish. This was a difficult time for our family and Chris went above and beyond for us. He reminded us that there are still good people in this world. He took it beyond a business deal and was a real person to us. We can not express what a great guy he is. We now understand why we were told he is the "BEST".

Putnam County Supervisor of Assessments
Outstanding Attorney! I have had the pleasure of working with him on different cases for 3 years now and found him to be very professional and educated, and very good at explaining himself when I have questions. (and believe me, I am always asking questions)

Trusted Advisor
I utilized Chris for my divorce. He was very responsive. I was most impressed with his honesty and integrity. It was very clear he was most interested in coming to an amicable solution in my best interest and in the best interest of my children. Chris didn't unnecessarily drag the process out and he moved as quickly as he could and as I was comfortable. I've dealt with many attorney's in my professional career and in my personal life so the legal process isn't really new to me. I felt he collaborated with me and took on the role of a trusted advisor to me, while leading the process as needed. Chris was not afraid to be frank with me when needed because it was in my best interest. I really liked the joint parenting agreement. It was thorough and complete, yet clearly understood.

He does unreasonable and heavy billing...
He represented me for 2 months in an easy child custody case. He went through my $6,000 retainer fee in less than 30 days. He said to not worry and we will work it out bc he hadn't been to court yet. Chris Sherer charged an additional almost $8,000 after the retainer fee. A judge ruled that Sherer did unreasonable billing for what work was done on my case.

Unfortunately, contested matters are very, very rarely as simple or as easy as one might hope. It is always disappointing when an adverse result is received, but outcomes in litigated matters cannot be guaranteed or entirely predicted. As such, it is unwise to take shortcuts in preparation when attempting to anticipate all that might arise from the opposition at trial and doing other background work with the goal of building the most favorable case. Diligent preparation requires time, and that time is expensive, regardless of the outcome. The Court had the benefit of hindsight, a perspective that cannot be completely anticipated in preparing for a trial. I would be happy to meet to discuss your concerns further, which might be beneficial to both of us- for me to address how I might improve in assisting others with needs similar to yours, and perhaps for you to better understand how lawyers need to prepare to do their work. Naturally, there would be no charge for such a discussion.

"I endorse this lawyer. I had the pleasure of attending law school with Chris Sherer, 1997-2000. Chris was always a leader in class and participated in legal discussions outside of the class room. His thoughts and opinions were always well reasoned and he was always able to buttress and embellish his position. It is great to see Chris having such a successful career."

"I endorse this lawyer. I have found Mr. Sherer to be a knowledgeable, aggressive, tough, but not unreasonable attorney. Although he has aggressively pursued his clients interests, he has not been disagreeable, nor taken extreme positions. Rather than run up fees, he has advised his clients to compromise when appropriate. I would never hesitate to send a potential client to him."
