Putnam County Supervisor of Assessments
Outstanding Attorney! I have had the pleasure of working with him on different cases for 3 years now and found him to be very professional and educated, and very good at explaining himself when I have questions. (and believe me, I am always asking questions)

He does unreasonable and heavy billing...
He represented me for 2 months in an easy child custody case. He went through my $6,000 retainer fee in less than 30 days. He said to not worry and we will work it out bc he hadn't been to court yet. Chris Sherer charged an additional almost $8,000 after the retainer fee. A judge ruled that Sherer d...
Unfortunately, contested matters are very, very rarely as simple or as easy as one might hope. It is always disappointing when an adverse result is received, but outcomes in litigated matters cannot be guaranteed or entirely predicted. As such, it is unwise to take shortcuts in preparation when attempting to anticipate all that might arise from the opposition at trial and doing other background work with the goal of building the most favorable case. Diligent preparation requires time, and that time is expensive, regardless of the outcome. The Court had the benefit of hindsight, a perspective that cannot be completely anticipated in preparing for a trial. I would be happy to meet to discuss your concerns further, which might be beneficial to both of us- for me to address how I might improve in assisting others with needs similar to yours, and perhaps for you to better understand how lawyers need to prepare to do their work. Naturally, there would be no charge for such a discussion.
"I endorse this lawyer. I had the pleasure of attending law school with Chris Sherer, 1997-2000. Chris was always a leader in class and participated in legal discussions outside of the class room. His thoughts and opinions were always well reasoned and he was always able to buttress and embellish his position. It is great to see Chris having such a successful career."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have found Mr. Sherer to be a knowledgeable, aggressive, tough, but not unreasonable attorney. Although he has aggressively pursued his clients interests, he has not been disagreeable, nor taken extreme positions. Rather than run up fees, he has advised his clients to compromise when appropriate. I would never hesitate to send a potential client to him."
