Our small business originally had another lawyer in Champaign-Urbana handling our business' needs. When it came to the sale of a partner's llc interest, this lawyer dropped off the face of the Earth. Through repeated efforts including numerous phone calls and emails, we never heard back, even if just to say he could no longer assist us.
As a result, we began searching for a new lawyer in Champaign-Urbana. THANK GOODNESS WE FOUND JULIE. It cannot be oversold that Julie King is the epitome of what us average-folk would want a lawyer to embody. When it came to meeting with us, her consultation was free and scheduled to last 30 minutes. However, she did not rush us out the door as time went well beyond this. Furthermore, it was very evident that she ACTUALLY CARED about what we needed help with - what a novel feeling! We were aware we weren't going to make her rich on our business alone, but it was clear that Julie's heart was in the right place and that she is in this to help everyone she can. If you are reading this review, that means you are debating who you should try out in Champaign-Urbana. You simply cannot go wrong in contacting Julie. You will not leave the experience disappointed. She handled our transaction with the upmost class. I never got the feeling she was trying to delay any proceeding to bill us more (which I only mention because the other party's counsel was doing this so badly it became quite sad). All in all, I can safely say our business has found what we believe to be the best lawyer in Champaign-Urbana.
Mr. King is excellent in advising our nonprofit organization. She was patient with our questions, present many solutions and options. She was very knowledgeable in business law.
I'm a solo practice attorney in Champaign, Illinois. I focus on intellectual property (patent, trademark, and copyright registration, maintenance, and licensing, and trade secret protection), business law (corporation, partnership, and limited liability company formation and operation; business transactions), and estate planning (wills, trusts, powers of attorney). I grew up in Champaign and am a proud graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law. The purpose of my practice is to help you protect your business and your brand. If you are a client, you can be assured I will work to address your unique needs and goals, whether you are an individual with simple one-time needs or a business with ongoing concerns.
I have over 20 years of experience in working with clients, from individuals to large businesses, to help them with life stage planning, business planning, intellectual property protection, and other legal matters. My “proactive planning” approach to my practice means that I work with clients to carefully develop plans of action to help achieve their personal and business goals as smoothly as possible and avoid common problems as they move forward. Time spent creating and executing thoughtful plans is a sound investment compared with having to deal with time-consuming and costly problems that could have been avoided.
