Daniel Guy Deneen

DANIEL G. DENEEN is a sole practitioner in Bloomington, where his practice focuses on probate (guardianship and decedent) and estate planning, fiduciary fraud/financial exploitation, real estate, and general law. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, member and past chairperson of the Section Council/Committee on Mental Health Law.  He is a member and past president of the McLean County Bar Association.  He has been the Public Guardian and Public Administrator of McLean County, Illinois, since 2003. 

 Daniel Deneen has written articles for the Illinois Bar Journal, Loyola Consumer Law Review, Advancing the Consumer Interest and National Association of Consumer Advocates Newsletter.  He is the author of the chapter on Fiduciary Fraud Litigation in the IICLE Causes of Action handbook.  In the past several years he has spoken on Probate and Estate Planning, Guardianship, and Consumer law, issues in Bloomington, Springfield, and Chicago, Illinois, and San Antonio, Texas.

Daniel Deneen received his B.S. from the University of Illinois College of Commerce in 1979 and his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1982.  His current community service includes the local PATH Agency Self-Neglect/Guardianship Task Force, the Illinois State University Mennonite College of Nursing Advisory Council, the OSF-St. Joseph’s Hospice and Home Health Care Professional Advisory Commitee, St. Patrick Church of Merna, and the ParkLands Foundation (conservation land trust) Board of Directors.    

Mr. Deneen is married to Dr. E. Paula Crowley Deneen, Illinois State University Professor in the Special Education Department, and they have one son, Patrick Deneen.
