Not Recommended

I recommend not hiring her. As my defense attorney for a period of five months, Stephanie Wong failed to provide competent and ethical representation. Her actions and statements led me to conclude that she was using fear tactics to steer me toward a guilty plea, and was attempting to protect the peop...le that were involved in a trumped-up false arrest including an illegal search of my residence, and another illegal search and seizure of firearms in my home. Following a motion hearing on 10/2/2017 where her unprofessional and unethical conduct finally convinced me that I could no longer have her represent me, I fired her. Wong then filed a motion to withdraw as my attorney and was heard on 10/23/2017. I requested a refund of the $14,000 fee and she responded that there would be no refund. I requested. I filed a request with The Chicago Bar Association Committee on Professional Fees asking for help in recovering the fee. She responded to them that she refuses to pay a refund and will not refund the fee and declined to participate in their program.

Don't Hire Her !

We hired Ms Wong to handle my daughter’s case in ‘attempted resisting arrest’ charges by a Normal police officer. Ms Wong was not the least interested in fighting for my daughters rights, trying to win this case, or give us sound legal advice. She only wanted to cash in on her “college student from... the big city” (her words!) Her recommendations were to not go to trial because we would lose. She recommended pleading guilty and letting it go. Later we found out there were prior issues with the arresting officer, and the officer ended up resigning just after the case went before a judge. She could have had the case thrown out, but didn’t even bother to research. Definitely do NOT recommend her.
