Mr. Knuckey has represented me in a family case for well over 2 years now. I believe that the reason it has taken this long is almost entirely because of Mr. Knuckeys lackadaisical attitude and his spiritless presence in the courtroom and In general. His failure to "fight" for me as his client has... left me with next to no access to my child in years and countless hoops to be traversed to even begin to rectify what his inaction has caused. Mr. knuckeys decision to work for a affordable legal firm in retrospect is a irresponsible and reckless thing to do on behalf of his clients past, present, and future. I wish I had recognized it earlier, but it is abundantly clear to me now that he is no family case lawyer. after all this I wouldn't trust him as a attorneyp even in the bankruptcy field. I can only imagine he is just as inept there. well over 2 years of extensions and drawbacks and I've made it nowhere if not backwards. He refuses to answer calls or emails to even acknowledge me or my case knowing my relationship with my son is in the balance. 0/5 stars if you care about whatever it is youre in court for then do not choose Mr. Donald Knuckey JR to represent you. It has solely been the most detrimental mistake I've ever made. aside from this review I intend to contact the Illinois BAR association as well. Do yourself a favor and keep looking for your representation elsewhere.

Do not waste your time or money on this "attorney." We paid him a retainer over a month ago to start working on my fiance's case. Before we paid him he seemed great. He was very professional and seemed to have a game plan. Before paying him I felt very comfortable with his knowledge and communication.... After paying him though everything went down hill. I would text or call him at least once a week to check in about updates on the case and he wouldn't respond. If he did respond he would say things like "I'm optimistic about..." I figured he was working on the case. Last week, exactly 1 month after paying him and with court coming up this week, I decided I needed to push a little harder. He told my fiance he was waiting to hear from the State's Attorney, that was a lie. Finally he calls me back last Friday. By this time I had already spoken to the State's Attorney office, the circuit clerks office, and my fiance's public defender. NONE OF THEM KNEW THIS GUY WAS MY FIANCE'S LAWYER! He never entered himself on the case which takes a whole 5 minutes to do. When he calls last Friday he tries to dance around the subject of not working on this case saying "time had slipped away from him" and "he hopes to have been further on this case." That's when I asked him flat out has he done ANYTHING or spoke to the State's Attorney. He said NO. He had a month to work on this and all he did was take our money and not doing ANYTHING. I requested a refund and of course didn't get a response until I threatened him that I would be filing a complaint with the ARDC. 2 days later he texts me saying he is going to try to get the check in the mail. I told him no I wanted the refund the exact same way I gave it to him, in cash. I picked up my refund yesterday but we should have never went through all of this. He is completely unprofessional. Do not trust him. Pay the larger retainer and get a good lawyer.

Donald Knuckey is a bad lawyer and a thief. I had my final meeting with him to submit my paperwork in JANUARY. He never filed my case and ignored calls, messages and emails from me for over SIX MONTHS. He finally got back to me only after I called his new law office. He was not remorseful. I have sin...ce attempted to file my case with him, again with no luck. I asked for a refund so I can find an attorney who will actually schedule a meeting and do the work- he will not do that either. So what do you call an attorney who doesn’t file your case OR return your money? A thief.

Donald Knuckey was our lawyer and we are quite satisfied. He is thorough and understood our individual needs. Everything went well and he handled our of our papers efficiently. Whenever we added more papers, he was awesome accepting more in a positive manner. He is friendly and he responds quickly. W...e will refer him to help others in the future.
