Dishonest, unprofessional

Atty Maureen Williams is not who she portrays to be this loving, caring, listening, the mission statement is a bunch of bull! I hired Maureen in Jan to do a case review for a post-conviction for my boyfriend. she charged me 7500 just for the review. I assume she was a good Atty from her reviews. Thi...s is farthest from the truth. I asked three questions that were important to me. How long will this review take? will she get the transcripts? and how will you handle his upcoming court date? Her reply was it will take approximately 6 mo. she will get his transcripts and will make an appearance on his behalf. As of 4/24/22 nothing has been done!! NO transcripts. (how can u review if you don't have the facts!!) She called me the day before his court date to ask what this was regarding. (as an atty u cant figure this out} she informed me that she couldn't go because she is still reviewing his case. Remember Maureen didn't say any of this when I asked! no actions have been taken she claims she thought her team was on it. Maureen also sends you highlights of your conversations but I noticed that anything that you have an issue with she doesn't address it, in the notes she sends you. only things that she assumes are going well. For the money that I have paid I expect more, I have since fired Maureen and awaiting my refund of 7500. she stated that she has to charge for her time. I am thinking timing doing what? lying!! I will definitely be filing a complaint with the bar association/ supreme court for her dishonest behavior. There is a ton more but just to give you a glimpse of her character. RUN When you see The office of Maureen Williams you will not regret it!!

CASE DISMISSED-First meeting with prosecutor DUI

I learned something very valuable When choosing an attorney, chose a winning TRIAL attorney like Maureen Williams Because the prosecutor knows she will take your case to trial I was innocent but Illinois is backwards state when it comes to DUI And had I not hired Maureen, I might very w...ell be sitting with a DUI or reckless driving conviction right now Maureen is WORTH the investment and a PLEASURE to work with She made an extremely difficult situation in my life much more easy to get through

DUI - International Driver

I was caught Driving Under the Influence whilst abroad in Peoria. Despite being against the law and down right stupid, I found myself in this embarrassing predicament after deciding to take the risk. It would be an action that I would regret and still regret today. Due to my time in the USA being onl...y a short visit, I found myself in a challenging situation where I had to find an attorney very quickly and one that I could trust to handle matters whilst I returned home (in another country). I discovered Maureen through an internet search where we met briefly the next day and she gave immediate advice and recommendations before my departure back home. These immediate recommendations and actions proved crucial in my case and saved me a lot of ongoing cost and time. Her knowledge in DUI cases is exceptional. Despite being arrested, Maureen challenged the case and evidence as best she could and reviewed every technicality in an effort to find a Not Guilty verdict. I read another review that quoted "An Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove". You definitely want her in your corner. You are definitely Innocent until proven Guilty. However, the case and evidence was stacked against me. Our immediate focus then turned to, how do I attend court or hearings whilst living in another country without too much personal impact? Maureen's extensive research found a case that set a precedent to conduct official court matters remotely. This was the best possible outcome as it saved a significant amount of additional expenses and travel time. Although being found Guilty in the end, Maureen did the best she could and prevented any additional unnecessary expenses or travel. Maureen's communication was second to none despite us being over 12hrs apart in different time zone. Maureen is very professional but yet has a very compassionate side. I highly recommend Maureen should you find yourself in trouble. I can't thank Maureen and her office enough.

Scott from Wisconsin

Standing alone in front of a judge is a frightening experience, even for something as “mundane” as a traffic violation. But standing alone in front of a judge and listening to him read the criminal misdemeanor charges being brought against you is plainly and utterly terrifying. Once we met Maureen, t...he terror was gone. While that may sound a bit dramatic, there was a stark difference standing before a judge by yourself and standing before a judge with someone who knows the law, the local judicial system and procedures, and the judge, prosecutors, and court workers and who is fighting for you. We decided to hire Ms. Williams when we met her. We felt she was the right one for the case. Also, a flat rate and no surprises. Maureen fought for my innocence. It’s difficult to describe all the feelings and emotions that I had facing my criminal charges. The fight was a long one, and Maureen was there for me and my family. And, when she called me to say that, finally, the charges had been dropped, we couldn’t thank her enough. Facing criminal charges is terrifying. Having a defense attorney of Maureen’s caliber fighting for me was more than a comfort; she has become a true friend. We whole-heartedly recommend her.

criminal defense: flase rape allegations

2 years ago on April of 2012 I hired Maureen on a case of false rape allegation. My ex girlfriend claimed rape, battery, and holding her hostage against me so the state was looking to throw me in jail for 8 years with fines of 50000 dollars. Before I found Maureen I had a consultation with two oth...er lawyers and both of them didnt even listen or care about my situation all they cared about was how they where going to get my money. I felt their greed not their help. The moment I stepped into Maureens office she listen to everything I had to say, asked questions, got involved with me, and wrote down answers. She then went out of her own way to work with me financially which I greatly appreciated. She used all of her resources and took all of my evidence and went through it all thoroughly as well as the evidence that was brought up against me. Finding all the right things and the wrong things in my case. After two years of fighting hard for me in this matter we finally won. Maureen thank you so much for giving me my life and freedom back I dont know what would have happen or where I would be right now if it werent for you. I will recomend you to everyone that I come across that needs a knowledgable and respectable friend, I mean lawyer :)

Suspension means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a specific period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

Maureen’s comment:

“Was 90 day suspension - April 2023 to July 2023 - failing to list on the form the actual names of charities where I did service hours and instead wrongly/falsely submitted form with an improper charity listed - hours were required for speeding ticket.”
