I retained Kevin Sullivan expecting competent criminal defense. What I received instead was total non-performance. Over the course of my representation, no meaningful discovery review was done, no strategic analysis was provided, and no serious negotiation with the prosecution occurred. I personal...ly organized and presented the discovery in my case, which was largely disregarded. Despite this, I was repeatedly told that achieving a reasonable outcome was “impossible.” Shortly thereafter, Mr. Sullivan withdrew from my case. Here’s the part that matters most: new counsel achieved the exact outcome I was seeking in under one week—an outcome Mr. Sullivan insisted could not be done. That contrast speaks for itself. I’ll say this carefully but honestly: perhaps Kevin Sullivan was a strong attorney 10–15 years ago, but based on my experience, he appears mentally checked out, disengaged, and unwilling to put in the work required today. The level of advocacy I received felt perfunctory at best. To make matters worse, despite minimal substantive work, my retainer was not promptly refunded, requiring further follow-up on my end. This experience was costly—not just financially, but in time, stress, and unnecessary uncertainty. If you are looking for an attorney who will actively engage with your case, thoroughly review discovery, and fight for outcomes rather than managing expectations downward, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
