Got the Job Done!!

Joe accomplished what two other lawyers over two years could not- getting my child support battle with my ex-husband FINISHED!! He headed off delay tactics, handled my hearing firmly and professionally, and got me everything I was requesting. Thanks Joe!!

Criminal matter

Joe was top notch. He knew exactly how to prepare and defend. Would use this law office over and over again, for any legal matter.

Divorce case

Mr. Borsberry has exceeded my expectations for the quality and velocity of my divorce case. He sets up clear expectations and time frame, provides clear communication and steps to follow. His work ethic and professionalism are above "average". In addition, he is a very nice person to work with and... easy to establish the trust environment with his clients. Mr. Borsberry is a great leader and I've heard only positive feedback from his colleagues at his firm. I highly recommend Mr. Borsberry.

my experience

Mr Borsberry is very good at what he does. There is no doubt in my mind that he had a plan and knew what he wanted to do. The problem and why I decided to change lawyers was based on a few reasons. He charges by the minute at a rate of $200 per hour. So, he probably didn't want to charge me a lot of ...money explaining all the details of what was going to happen with my order of protection and divorce. Which was a concern that had me freaking out and thinking I was never going to get to see my kids again. So when I went to my supervised visits with my kids, I was warning them that their grandma was probably going to offer them drugs and all kinds of other things to prepare them for a life without me. Which is a big no-no and is going to work against me in all of this. Then of course, I never knew what my final bill with Mr Borsberry was going to be because he billed me per minute. After a court continuance and all the standing around trying to schedule times for visits and other stuff, I went through my $1000 retainer in no time. So, I switched to another lawyer that charged a flat rate. All in all, I would say MR Borsberry is one of the best family lawyers in Peoria. If you can afford him and trust that he has your best interest at heart. When I tried to tell DCFS agent Ms Allin how my wife stabbed me with ink pens, punched me and slapped me on daily basis, yelled at me and the kids constantly, and promoted drug use to my children till they began talking about using drugs themselves, the DCFS agent told me to quit slandering my wife. I never got to tell him about that. I gave Mr Borsberry 5 stars on every category except kept me informed. He did provide me with copies of all the court orders and sent me letters to keep me updated, but I am not a lawyer. What I needed was to be told what was going to happen and what to expect since I have never been through anything like this before and was totally bullied and intimidated by my wife, the cops, the dcfs agent, and fear of losing my children. If you are cool with being billed by the minute and can trust someone to do their job without informing you with tips and suggestions to improve your chances. Then Borsberry is your man. If you are like me and need to know every detail and be informed down to the last detail to make your own choices on how to be represented but not be billed for every second.. Then Borsberry isn't your guy.

Borsberry Law Offices - True Professionals

First of all, let me say that if you are guilty, or if "surprises" that are true are entered against you in court, don't expect Mr.Borsberry to get you off the hook. Expect a plea agreement and consider your self lucky. Mr. Borsberry is committed to justice, not winning. I have had to hire several la...wyers over the last 20 years and I found the attorneys on both sides to be strutting, pompous buffoons. Once, in court, an opposing attorney made this grandiose sweeping gesture with his arm and referred to me as "THE DE-FEND-ANT". As if since I was defending myself, I must be guilty. What a joke. Judges aren't stupid. And I hope he reads this review. He might learn something. I was getting the idea that all lawyers were pretty slimy until I started working with Mr. Borsberry. Walking into his office was like walking into a lab where you would expect to see equations on blackboards. Borsberry Law Offices functions like a well oiled machine where all the staff are aware of what's going on with your case. Mr. Borsberry was so cool in court because he was dealing with facts, not show. I must say it was enjoyable to see the look on the opposing attorney's face as if he was thinking, "Oh Fuuuudge". Like Ralphie with the lugnuts. If you are truly innocent, Mr. Borsberry is the attorney to get. I really enjoyed watching the wheels go around in his head. And price? I just had my transmission rebuilt. $1700. But that's just part of life. Mr. Borsberry (like my mechanic) spent years in schooling and spent an untold amount of money to qualify him for the job. And then, the law constantly changes and demands continuous study. Really, Mr. Borsberry and his staff are the most professional and caring organization I've ever dealt with.
