I utilized Borsberry Law for a DUI case. Joe was straight forward, explaining what I options I had and what the law was regarding the charges from incident. After a long legal battle, we had the DUI dropped and a very favorable result. This prevented me from having to work through a reinstatement ...process if the charge had held up. I would recommend Joe and his office to anyone in central IL with a case in criminal or his other areas of expertise. Excellent lawyer. A very helpful staff. I came to know Joe while going through a nightmare of a case. The previous year I was accused of a hit-n-run, and after many court appearances and two public defenders later, I found myself without any formal representation. When I started contacting lawyers in this area, I was amazed at how many wer...e judgmental without even first knowing my side of the story (just like the public defenders) and they were looking at strategies, not to prove my innocence but to make the sentence I would receive "lighter". Not one of them considered I was actually innocent. Joe was different. Unfortunately our judicial system is flawed and if I hadn't hired Joe, I believe I wouldn't have had a chance, even with my evidence. I definitely recommend Joe.

Joseph M. Borsberry made promises in my preliminary consultation which he did not have any intention of keeping. I had paperwork to show that my arresting officer in my DUI case was dishonest and he agreed, I told him that he cussed and went down a hill to urinate on video. The officer gave a roadsid...e test on a hill. Borsberrry said that he would go to trial with that information. For that reason. I gave him his retainer fee of $2500.00. After a month and receiving emails with the wrong dates on them, I requested a meeting to discuss the police video which Mr. Borsberry refused to view in the preliminary consultation. Again, he would not view the police video of the officer going down a hill to urinate. The video also contained the voice of police officers using profanities. I also had paperwork proving that the officer gave five DUI’s in a two-week period. Joseph Borsberry had the paralegal look at the video on computer, across from me as she described the wrong location during the meeting. The 65-minute video was not played beyond the first two minutes. During that meeting Mr. Borsberry said that he and the expert witness do not want to go after the officer who gave me a Standardized Field Sobriety Test on a hill. Which was easily proven with a cue ball rolling down the hill and also using a six-foot level. I had two witnesses on video rolling a cue ball up the hill and it rolled back down on its volition. They also employed a six-foot level. They were approved by the judge and ready to testify. He said, "I will have them testify if I feel like it." I then left the meeting and began to send Mr. Borsberry emails to discuss my case further. He sent back emails that made no sense. When I sent emails to rectify my meaning he sent more nonsensical emails and charged me for every nonsensical email. In this way, and with Motions which made no sense, he burned up over $2100. 00 of the retainer and left me to go to trial on my own, as my own attorney, Pro Se.

First of all, let me say that if you are guilty, or if "surprises" that are true are entered against you in court, don't expect Mr.Borsberry to get you off the hook. Expect a plea agreement and consider your self lucky. Mr. Borsberry is committed to justice, not winning. I have had to hire several la...wyers over the last 20 years and I found the attorneys on both sides to be strutting, pompous buffoons. Once, in court, an opposing attorney made this grandiose sweeping gesture with his arm and referred to me as "THE DE-FEND-ANT". As if since I was defending myself, I must be guilty. What a joke. Judges aren't stupid. And I hope he reads this review. He might learn something. I was getting the idea that all lawyers were pretty slimy until I started working with Mr. Borsberry. Walking into his office was like walking into a lab where you would expect to see equations on blackboards. Borsberry Law Offices functions like a well oiled machine where all the staff are aware of what's going on with your case. Mr. Borsberry was so cool in court because he was dealing with facts, not show. I must say it was enjoyable to see the look on the opposing attorney's face as if he was thinking, "Oh Fuuuudge". Like Ralphie with the lugnuts. If you are truly innocent, Mr. Borsberry is the attorney to get. I really enjoyed watching the wheels go around in his head. And price? I just had my transmission rebuilt. $1700. But that's just part of life. Mr. Borsberry (like my mechanic) spent years in schooling and spent an untold amount of money to qualify him for the job. And then, the law constantly changes and demands continuous study. Really, Mr. Borsberry and his staff are the most professional and caring organization I've ever dealt with.
