Douglas Charles Scovil

Doug is a great attorney, I justed started my divorce but he's a great man to work with. His staff is very rude and untrustworthy. He has been thru alot of staff members lately since he took my case on and I love him to pieces. He was sick and in the hospital and I cried my eyes out for GOD to heal h...im and he received a speedy recovery now GOD answered my prayers so he will answer mine. My husband lied in court and so did his father who testified and we didn't know he was going to have witnesses and we both were blindsided. But Henry County is so crooked that shows what money buys in this county, this is the opinion of one woman, I feel sorry for alot of people that probably lost cases because of this reason. I lost my lil gift from GOD for the above reasons on a temporary basis.

He takes your money, and provides little communication. He'll charge you outrageous rates just for you to make a phone call and ask a simple quesiton. He has you reluctant to even call him for fear of burning up your retainer. Use him if you want to spend a lot of money with little results. The ...receptionists are rude, and the attorneys are never available at the time that you are scheduled to meet with them. I have waited in their waiting area for over 45mins for an appointment that was scheduled. There are so many better attorneys to use than him. He's not very friendly, which is fine, if he's effective; but he's neither of them. I would HIGHLY reccomend not using him for your divorce proceedings, unless you want your soon to be ex-spuse getting everything.

I heard great things about Scovil and chose to use him for me divorce. As far as listening to me he avoids answering all questions I've had using rhetoric like "You're getting ahead of yourself, we'll cross that bridge when we get there." etc... He is extremely unorganized so far he has lost and no...t filed my financial information, has lost or misfiled notices and my custody arrangement paperwork. and not kept me informed on what is going on. I stand exactly one week from my hearing and I had to hear about it from my ex who shared her cc'ed copy with me. I've called a few times regarding this and have yet to receive a response. On a positive note he seems like a highly intelligent individual, and I fully believe he is capable of doing a decent job. I don't know if he's too busy to care for my case or just doesn't care. As for me this is my first divorce and feel like i would have been better off going alone than with Mr.Scovil.
