also known as Ray Law Office
My office focuses on the representation of all family law financial issues including bitcoin transactions, concealment of cryptocurrency, capital gains modification of child support, modification of maintenance, arrearage and interest calculations, divorce without children, preparation of and enforcement/defense to prenuptial agreements, seeking penalties for improper income withholding a contingency fee basis as well as the enforcement of existing maintenance or child support orders. My office has experience with Bitcoin (cryptocurrency) since 2018.
The office is no longer handling disputed parenting ( formerly known as custody) issues.
My office is physically located in Rockford, Illinois though my experience and use of electronic forms of communication provide me with an ability to assist clients throughout the state. Gone are the days where a it is necessary in which a lawyer requires you to make an appointment at his or her office to sit down to review numerous documents with you on your time which in addition you are billed for. The law has been around many years and the legal aspects are constantly changing. The method of communication between a client and attorney should not ignore the use of email communication. Every voicemail a client leaves is sent directly to my email and to my client's electronic folder. This process not only expedites and allows me to respond to clients 24 hours a day but significantly reduces billing costs.9

Not your guy
Please do not make the mistake of hiring this attorney. If his “tough guy”, “bulldog” schtick is ineffective on the opposing counsel and your case ultimately goes to trial his unpreparedness will cost you dearly. He was uninterested in hearing what my responses would be to allegations made about me a...
A client always has the righto a trial and not choose to settle. A client can demand a trial to show to the Judge her or his view of the facts and to use witnesses to convice the court of her or his defense. If you admit in testimomy to multiple acts of domestic violence and your best defense is that the spouse should have not poked the bear a trial may not produce the results one thinks the Judge will determine. There may be better attorneys than me. I do use a laptop in court. The fees owed to my ofifce are 3x less than what the second attorney has charged. The second attorney has now also withdrawn.

Divorce
He was hired on to take my divorce case. Was good upfront because of retainer fee than he dropped me 4 months into case . Wouldn’t except payment plans under $400.00 month to finish case ongoing . So he dropped me because I wouldn’t pay that much and didn’t except anything less on going !!!
Each review that is posted by "anonymous" should be taken no less serious than a reviewer that chooses to provide her/his name. With that said I have no idea who this person would be and I can say with a certainty that I have not to my recollection withdrawn from a case based upon non payment unless the client did not make payments per the payment plan ( yes we do payment plans) or the payment plan would take the payment schedlule after a trial is prepared for and finished. I do quite often have post reatiner payment plans but such plans can not be based upon amounts owed above 1400.00 retainer. In addition any payment plan (which by default implies that I have not been paid for the work already done) is only agreed to if certain conditions are met. These conditions include an analysis on my end of the client's ability to pay when they have yet not been able to do so as well as the ability to enter a judgment for the fees and collect the payments due if the client fails to honor the payment plan.

Lazy and Arrogant
Mr. Ray came in to my divorce when it was already I’m going and contentious for sometime, he exploited the situation did nothing and charged fees. He then dropped me when I didn’t pay him when he gave me an hours notice. He is a hothead that can’t control his reactions and treat people disrespectfull...
The AVVO review policy does allow a former client to provide a court case number so that other individuals can follow up and review for themselves court public online activity. AVVO does not follow through with the truthfulness of a post. I have never made an initial request to pay my fees within a day. Most attorneys send out monthly invoices as does my office. In a few instances we follow up requests for payment, discuss fee payment arrangements, and agreements for delayed payment are made. Sometimes clients simply do not pay even when the work requested has been done. Please note that I am responding to a review which implies that I terminated a relationship with a client who thought I "exploited the situation", and I "can’t control his reactions and treat people disrespectfully". If in fact this was true makes you wonder why the person who posted the review chose not to fire me.

Do not hire.
Don was a good lawyer up front, he helped me out and pointed me into the right direction. He would explain things to you in a calm manor but when it came to court. my custody battle was dragged out over two years, yet to be finished. Don wouldn't answer emails unless it was something he needed. He al...
If you have read the above review please take into consideration that I withdrew from his case upon courts approval. The person who posted this review did not fire me. The court can impose a sanction, 750 ILCS 5/508(b) on a party when a party does not comply with an Order to produce their personal records requested in the discovery process. This sanction is the payment of attorney fees to the other attorney who would have taken action with the court enforce the Order.
