Thomas Vega-Byrnes is a Chicago-based attorney with 20 years of experience in a variety of international business and development sector transactions. He has provided assistance to a range of clients around the world, including project sponsors, commercial and government lenders, EPC contractors, investment funds, development institutions and major corporations. He has handled matters in over 60 countries.

My practice covers: Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America: project financed engineering and construction projects in electric power, airport, chemicals and other major infrastructure projects; international and US project finance and secured lending; investments in and loans to micro and SME lending institutions in developing countries; major international development institutions such as IFC, CDC, FMO, KfW, EBRD; corporate restructurings for tax purposes; M&A; joint ventures.


He was formerly an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University Law School, and is currently a Lecturer in Law at University of Chicago Law School.
