Michael T. Franz

Michael T. Franz is a partner with Sanchez, Daniels & Hoffman, LLP, in Chicago, Illinois. His practice is focused on, and he has extensive trial and arbitration experience in, commercial litigation, real estate litigation and condominium law. He was also a long standing member of the board of directors of a large Chicago condominium association.

In 2010, Mr. Franz successfully represented a condominium association board President in a case of first impression in the Illinois Supreme Court.  In Wright Development Group, LLC v. John Walsh, 238 620, 939 N.E.2d 389 (2010), Mr. Franz’s client was sued for defamation by the condominium association’s developer. Employing a new immunity under Illinois' new Anti-SLAPP statute, the Illinois Citizen Participation Act, 735 ILSC 110/1, the association president was granted judgment in his favor and against the developer. Moreover, the client was awarded nearly $350, in attorneys’ fees and court costs. 

In 2008, Mr. Franz obtained a $2,500, verdict for his clients in an Indiana State Court action related to a condominium association. He also has successfully handled several federal and state court appeals.

Mr. Franz earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree from Michigan State University College of Law.
