Jordan Matyas founded the law firm to provide legal counsel and government relations services to individuals and businesses. Jordan’s choice for the firm name pays homage to the state where he was born, grew up, and has lived most of his life. 1818 is significant as the year that the great State of Illinois was admitted to the Union.
Jordan’s keen insight into business operations benefits clients who need assistance with both routine and complex matters. Whether a client requires help resolving a dispute or developing a solution to a particular business or legal issue, Jordan dedicates himself to finding the best possible resolution, while being mindful of the client’s overall goals and interests.
Jordan is a registered State and City lobbyist and helps clients with government relations goals, legislative and policy concerns, and other public affairs opportunities. Jordan also works with clients who have existing government contracts or who are looking to learn about the government procurement process.
As a lobbyist and lawyer, Jordan is uniquely qualified to help clients that have administrative law matters. He assists clients with regulatory issues, enforcement actions, investigations, and other administrative law concerns arising in both state and local agencies.
Many clients retain Jordan because of his previous work and knowledge with financial and professional licensing at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. While some IDFPR matters are relatively routine, others have the potential to significantly impact a client’s life and livelihood.
EXPERIENCES

Humane Society of the United States, and his experience as Supervisor and Counsel for the Division of Financial Institutions and Supervisor of the Consumer Credit Section at IDFPR all contribute to the knowledge and skill that Jordan now draws on to serve his clients.
