Robert F. Geimer

For over 30 years, Bob Geimer has successfully represented clients in cases involving serious injury and wrongful death arising from medical mistakes, vehicle collisions, and defective products. He has gained recognition for his work on catastrophic medical cases, including a landmark federal court verdict exceeding $30 million for a baby who suffered brain damage due to a medical error. Bob’s verdicts and settlements total more than $200 million, and his trial experience spans Chicago, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Winnebago, and LaSalle Counties in Illinois, as well as federal courts nationwide.

As a member of the Birth Trauma Litigation Group of the American Association for Justice, Bob remains deeply engaged with advancements in law and medicine and is a dedicated advocate for patient safety. He is particularly proud of his advocacy on behalf of children with cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injuries, and other birth-related conditions, helping secure tens of millions of dollars to provide medical, rehabilitative, and supportive care for these children and their families.

Bob has also achieved significant results for clients injured by hazardous products, such as a woman who lost her hand in a defective punch press machine, and unsafe properties, including two children who died in a fire caused by absent smoke detectors. Drawing on his background as a former insurance claims adjuster, Bob uses his knowledge of the claims process to help clients achieve favorable outcomes in vehicle accident cases. When insurers refuse to resolve claims fairly, he relies on his courtroom skills to deliver results at trial.

A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, Bob graduated from Loyola University Chicago and earned his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he served as an editor of the University of Illinois Law Review.
