When I left a large corporate law firm in 1978 to start my own firm focused on personal injury litigation, my goal was to apply the big firm commercial litigation techniques I had learned  to cases for individuals who had been severely injured. The plan worked to perfection and I was able to win tough cases time and again for our clients. With every case I litigated,  the techniques became refined and improved on and the successes multiplied.  But rather than expanding to become the big firm I had left,  I have  purposely kept the firm small so we can provide close personal atttention to the cases we select to handle. Life Saving Attorney
My husband had a massive stroke at the age of 63 which was mis-diagnosed as a brain tumor. He could no longer work, we lost our home and we had to quickly downgrade into a smaller space. Donald Shapiro took our case and won a settlement for us which provided funds for my husband's care (he lived another fourteen years). I was able to buy a larger house, care for him while teaching at home for nine years and then pay for his last five years of care in a nursing facility. At eighty, I am still teaching and I have the security that when I do decide to retire, the funds are there for me so that I will not be a financial burden on any of our six children.
