Posted by L the boner | December 13, 2023 | Hired Attorney

Worst representation I ever had.

My experience with Patrick was not at all pleasant. I hired him on to represent me in a workman Comp case against Chicago Transit Authority. I reached out to him several times and he would not respond, When CTA refused to pay benefits, he took three months to file a motion to force them to pay bene...fits. I did not know when the case was gonna be heard. I reached out to him several times to find out he still didn't respond to me. I had to go online to find out what the date was and when I did, It had pass and he did not contact me to let me know what happened. It was only until I hire another attorney and I reached out to let him know that he was fired he called me 15 mins after I sent him the email. When I asked him why did he not respond to any of my calls or emails? He was very argumentative and defensive. He said there wasn't anything to tell me. That's why he didn't call or email me back.. He told me the case was continued and I said. Well. Wasn't that something to contact me and tell me what was going on. He pleaded for me to keep him on and I said hell no! I wouldn't hire this guy to represent a dead dog case.

Very Professional

Mr. Shifley worked with me in settling my Worker's Compensation case, and was very professional and knowledgeable. He gave me good advice about what to do with my money after my case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
