Daniel Scott Lewis

I counsel individuals, business owners, and families on a wide variety of tax, wealth-transfer, wealth-preservation, and philanthropic matters. I work closely with my clients and their advisers on both the tax and non-tax aspects of estate planning, focusing on estate planning strategies designed to efficiently minimize taxes and to achieve my client’s specific lifetime and testamentary goals. 

I have extensive experience representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries on the administration of trusts and decedents' estates, probate, and pre- and post-mortem planning. In addition, I have experience in a wide range of income tax compliance and controversy matters and have represented clients in disputes before the Internal Revenue Service, the Illinois Department of Revenue, and other taxing bodies.
