Shawn was really quite extraordinary as lawyers go. I must confide I don't like them, not even a little. But I also believe in giving credit where it is due. I came to Shawn explaining that I wanted to get divorced, and on a budget. He took that statement very seriously. Although all lawyers are... overpriced in my humble opinion, he made sure to make every billable hour count. He helped me find ways to do some things on my own to keep the bill manageable (at my request) and also couched his advice in such a manner as to give me the best bang for my buck. With that said, he is also willing to go to any lengths to ensure success. He presented me with all options, always made sure my questions were answered, and left me to make the crucial decisions once I had been presented with all the options as well as his advice on which may be the best. I NEVER felt pressured by him. On the contrary, he actually allayed my fears when I was beginning to come unraveled. His candor was perfect, giving me what I needed to know how the system worked so no time was wasted hitting my head against a brick wall. He was available as often as I needed and very reasonable about billing. I must say that while watching both he and my ex's lawyer battle this out, it was clear who wanted to get things done, and was on the ball. Shawn KNOWS the law, and he leaves you realizing that not everyone does, or if they did may have lost their drive/fire/energy to stay on top of things. He brings his A game, and is willing to be in court every time if need be, but is also willing (as mentioned before) to find ways to keep the bill easier to handle. His versatility to meet client needs is matched only by his voracity in pursuing the best outcome possible for his client. He also is very capable of dealing with issues/hiccups mid-case. I can say that he handles issues that were never foreseen with consummate professionalism. As I mentioned when I started, if you are lucky, you never need an attorney, as they are very expensive and the legal system is not designed to be kind to your pocketbook. That said, Shawn is a very, very skilled attorney, and worth every penny!
