Jeffrey Ray Esser

Where do I begin? There is so much more to my story but I will try to stay with Mr Esser. But, even this won't be a complete story of how Mr. Esser failed in his contractual duties as my attorney. I hired Mr. Esser in early 2019 to represent me in a divorce case involving parenting time issues. Mr. E...sser was very persuasive. He made promises to address the past violations of parenting time by the mother with all the zeal of a used car salesman. Mr. Esser assured me that he had access to the paralegal pool located on the floor where his office was located and that he would use it. After securing a contract and taking my money, Mr. Esser constantly showed a lack of interest in keeping his promises. During the year that he represented me, he NEVER once filed a motion for contempt against the mother inspite of violations of past and present parenting agreements. At one point he flat out told me that he didn't want to deal with the past issues, only the present issues. During his representation of one year. I saw my two sons ages 13 and 14 a sum total of one month and phone contact was virtually non existant. I presented him with Ring video footage of my 13 year old son at my backdoor in February at night while I was not home. I asked my son why had he not called me to tell me that he was on his way to my house. My son replied that his mother forced him out of her residence under threat of calling the police on him. He said she gave him a broken phone and no money. He was forced to panhandle for bus fare in the Englewood neighborhood at 55th and Ashland to get to my home near 83rd and Pulaski. Thank goodness I had just installed the Ring doorbell with the intercom system which allowed me to see and communicate with individuals at my door through my cellphone. This was in response to the mother sending my sons hours early without their phones to let me know that she had decided to send them by bus in lieu of driving them. Mr. Esser did nothing with this video. I gave him police documentation of a response to my ex wife's residence in response to my call to investigate a child locked out of the home after my son called me for help due to the mother locking him out of the home with no coat or shoes. I gave him handwritten letters of both boys detailing incidents of abuse such as withholding food as punishment. Mr. Esser, the G.A.L. Masah SamForay and my previous attorneys failed my children. I will be filing my complaints to the ARDC. I now have the Law Office of Jeffrey Leving as my legal representation. In one visit more has been accomplished than during my entire representation by Mr. Esser. My biggest regret is that I didn't go to them sooner. Why did I stay with Mr. Esser for so long? I was low on money for a new retainer to a new attorney. Mr. Esser knew my financial health level because he was made privy through my financial affidavit. He was all I had at that time. He failed me and my two sons.
