Edward Christian Eberspacher IV

Edward "Ted" Eberspacher concentrates his practice on the defense of attorneys, accountants, insurance producers, securities brokers, real estate agents, physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, architects and engineers.  His legal experience also includes the defense of manufacturers in product liability litigation and corporations and individuals in class action litigation, including class action claims for alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Chicago Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance.  He also represents several condominium associations on corporate and litigation affairs and employers in various state and federal court proceedings in cases involving discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation.   

Ted has been named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list as one of the top attorneys in Illinois for 2013 in the field of professional liability litigation.  No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to Super Lawyers, a Thompson Reuters business rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.  Ted is a published author and frequent lecturer on professional liability topics and has been invited to speak at DRI's Professional Liability Seminar in New York this December on How To Avoid Lawsuits at the Pre-Suit Stage.   

Ted received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois  College Of Law, magna cum laude, where he was a Harno Scholarship recipient, a Rickert Scholar for Oral Advocacy and a recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Evidence.  Ted also served on Illinois' Moot Court Board of Editors and was a regional champion and national finalist in the HNBA Moot Court Competition, where he placed third nationally with thirty-four teams competing. 
 

Ted's tactics and strategies are considered, measured and imaginative.  He does not confine himself to the drop-down menus of tactics that most lawyers consider, instead stepping outside the box, sometimes way outside, to ensure that his clients get what they both expect and deserve.  Prior to joining Meyer Law Group, LLC in 2013, Ted spent eight years defending professionals and representing corporations and individuals in a wide array of commercial disputes at a mid-sized professional liability boutique in downtown Chicago. While there, Ted tackled billon-dollar class action claims under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, first-chaired jury trials under Illinois' Forcible Entry and Detainer statute and won multiple appeals on behalf of his D&O, E&O, products and commercial clients. 

Ted currently lives in Elmhurst with his wife and two young daughters.
