David Mitchell Sternfield

I had the misfortune of encountering David Sternfield as my child's appointed guardian ad litem. He was biased and unprofessional. Sternfield did not have my child's best interest in mind. David Sternfield showed no interest in doing what was best for the child. Although he was making important decis...ions about the child's life, Sternfield didn't try to get to know the child who was involved in the case. Sternfield showed favoritism to the opposing attorney and her client. He charged an enormous amount of money and did not do any work toward the case. Sternfield made a major decision about the child's education, and the judge relied totally on his recommendation. Sternfield's decision negatively impacted the child's educational experience then and it continues to impact the child's education and the quality of it. I highly suggest that you do not use David Sternfield as a guardian ad litem, stay far away from him.

Sternfield was court appointed. Had the case for a year. Never reviews prior case notes. Said he didn’t care what happened previously. Ignored court orders and listened to “what the mother said”…. sad for my child. Says to email him, he doesn’t answer that. Then says to text him, doesn’t answer th...at either. Then says to call him, he doesn’t answer that either. Then he says call him again. Idk how this crap is legal.

Never in my life would I think I would need to write a review for an attorney, however, Davids work is so incredibly horrible that I am left with no choice. Please please be aware that if you are in a case that involves children, David does not have the best interest of the child. He was court appoin...ted so please try to stay away.

David Sternfield was a fair and honest Lawyer. He focused primarily on the goal and did his best to accommodate my needs. In the end I got the custody I wanted along with a very fair agreement on transportation. David was capable of handling most of the work while I was in Nevada. Any and all issues ...were addressed and he was willing to work me through any questions I had. Very easy going and if I needed anything he was a simple text away. I went from having no custody to having every school break and can now spend Christmas with my son that I’ve missed for 6 years.

He was very helpful in giving me advice, coming up with a plan and explaining next steps. I felt very confident that Mr. Sternfield and his very professional team was handling my case and working hard to get me the BEST results .I did get the BEST results in my case in the end . I highly recommend Mr. Sternfield AND HIS VERY PROFESSIONAL team to anyone that wants legal help that is genuine, professional, committed, work for the client and caring about your case type of legal service. Mr. Sternfield and his Team definitely the best legal counsel in Chicago.
