Green Card Lotery Process

I went to about 4 immigration lawyers who told me that my case would make it nearly impossible to obtain a Green Card through the DV Lottery I had just won, because I was out of status. These lawyers told me I was safer not doing anything. So I decided to go with Scott Pollock associates because th...ey told me differently. Christina took my case and she made the experience encouraging throughout because of her confidence in the subject matter. She paid considerable attention to every little detail of my case and provided advice and assistance that was beyond what I expected. I was able to go abroad with the necessary requirements and come back successfully as a permanent resident. At a time when I thought all was impossible, Christina’s wisdom, ability, and hard work really made my experience a lot more comfortable, and kept me optimistic throughout.

Change of Status

I am a current student in the US. I came from Bolivia and was willing to change my status to a permeant resident one. My first thought was to go to World Relief. I thought they could help me get a permanent resident card because their name is widely known and their job is to help immigrants in variou...s kinds of issues. Besides, it is cheap. They told me that it was no problem and that they would help me. It turned out that they didn't do a good job and the application was even sent to the wrong place. After they messed up, they contacted me with Scott D. Pollock & Associates, P.C. where Christina Murdoch took my case. She carefully analyzed my case and did an excellent job in preparing my file to be sent to immigration services. She knew exactly how to proceed and after around 2 months we were prepared to file the application. She always worked closely to other lawyers in the association which provided important feedback. After a few weeks of filing the application I received the approval notice. It was an excellent and very professional experience.

"I have been fortunate to have worked with Christina since 2007. Before coming to work for our firm, she was a staff attorney with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She combines scholarly rigor with a passion for justice, and is a uniquely effective immigration attorney for her clients. She identifies creative solutions to complex cases, and she capably represents her clients at every level of the immigration process, from agency applications to litigation in the federal courts. I highly endorse Christina to anyone needing an effective and compassionate immigration lawyer."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
