Kristin Nicole Barnette

Ms. Barnette has tried in excess of 100 jury trials to verdict, and has obtained hundreds of settlements for both individual and corporate clients. Her background working at the Cook County State's Attorney and Cook County Public Defender's offices coupled with her successful civil trial record in insurance defense, has earned her a proven track record and a reputation as a trial attorney who has the vision, steadfast determination and commitment to resolving complex disputes with the highest level of quality and integrity. 

Since 2017, Kristin is President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and has served on the Board of Directors since 2009. She was named one of “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch” in 2014 by the Law Bulletin. She also currently on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Bar Foundation and Women Everywhere: Partners in Service Project (WE). In addition, Kristin has enjoyed volunteering her time as a Mentor in the Lawyer-to-Lawyer mentoring program, volunteering as a Presiding Judge for the YMCA’s annual National Judicial Competitions, serving as an arbitrator, participating in the Judicial Evaluation Committee for the Bar Alliance, and has taught CLE courses on various topics including jury selection, jury instructions, closing arguments, defense tactics as well as ethics.

in 2004, Kristin received her Juris Doctor from DePaul College of Law, where, in addition to her rigorous course of study, she was actively involved in various initiatives. She was invited to be a research assistant to Torts and Social Policy Professor, Stephen Landsman, which Kristin continued until graduation, and she was also elected to be the DePaul Chapter President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. She successfully competed to be a Staff Writer for the DePaul Journal of Healthcare Law, ranked among the top in the nation, and was selected to be Editor-in-Chief her second year, managing a staff of over thirty individuals. While still in law school, Westlaw hired her to teach professors and students research applications and strategy. Kristin also clerked at Clifford Law Offices and worked on cases involving medical malpractice and other catastrophic injuries.
